THE MASSEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Application Under Sections 33 and 35 of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957

PLEASE take notice that on Wednesday, the 18th day of March 1964, the trustees of the Massey Memorial Scholarship Fund will make application at the Supreme Courthouse, Auckland, to a Judge of the Supreme Court for approval of a scheme whereby the powers of the trustees of the fund would be extended and varied and a varied mode of administration of the fund would be prescribed.

The fund is at present administered under the terms of a Trust Deed dated the 3rd day of February 1930 and the terms of that Deed are now so completely out of touch with present day conditions that the administration of the fund has become impossible and impracticable and inexpedient.

The applicants would be considered on the following grounds: ability, character, personal circumstances, examination results, proposed course of studies, and potential value of the award to the agricultural industry of New Zealand.

And further, take notice that the application that has been filed by the trustees and the scheme that they seek to have approved and the report on such scheme by the Attorney-General are all open for inspection by the public at the Supreme Courthouse in Auckland, free of charge.

And further, take notice that any person may appear at the Supreme Court, Auckland, on the above date to oppose the trustees’ application and that if any person desires so to appear in opposition to the proposed scheme he or she must give written notice of his or her intention so to do to the Registrar of the Supreme Court and to the trustees, care of their Solicitors, Messrs Grierson, Jackson, and Partners, 99 Queen Street, Auckland, and to the Attorney-General, care of the Crown Law Office, Wellington, not later than the 10th day of March 1964.
