Constituting the Amethyst Electric Power District

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS it is provided by section 3 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925 that any area or areas of land may be constituted an electric power district or outer area of such district under the said Act, and in the manner therein provided:

And whereas a petition praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto be constituted an electric power district under the said Act was publicly notified and duly presented to the Governor-General in terms of the said Act:

And whereas, after due inquiry, the Governor-General is of the opinion that the petition should be granted:

Now, therefore, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 3 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim the district described in the Schedule hereto to be an electric power district, and I hereby assign to such district the name of the “Amethyst Electric Power District”.


SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, Westland County, bounded by a line commencing at Glacier Peak, situated in Block VIII, Mount Cook Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station H.R., situated in Block VIII, Gillespies Survey District, and along the production of that line to the sea coast; thence north-easterly generally along the said sea coast to the right (northern) bank of the Mikonui River, situated in Block I, Totara Survey District; thence south-easterly generally along the right bank of the said Mikonui River to its source, situated in Block XIII, Totara Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the right bank of the Whitcombe River at its junction with the Price River, situated in Block V, Murray Survey District; thence southerly generally along the right bank of the said Whitcombe River to its source; thence south-easterly along a right line to the summit of Whitcombe Pass, situated in Block XVI, Whitcombe Pass Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the summit of the Main Divide of the Southern Alps to the point of commencement; the same being more particularly delineated on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 635 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 5th day of May 1964.

Crown Land Set Apart as Permanent State Forest Land

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.


SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—ROTORUA CONSERVANCY SECTIONS 4 and 5, Block XVI, Kaingaroa Survey District, Whakatane County: Area, 2 acres 3 roods 19·5 perches, more or less. As shown on plan No. 47/82 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red (S.O. Plan 40586).

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 4th day of May 1964.

Proclaiming the Borough of Whangarei to be a City

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim the Borough of Whangarei to be a city as on and from the 21st day of May 1964.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 12th day of May 1964.
