Amending a Licence Authorising the Tourist Hotel Corporation
of New Zealand to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating
Electricity and to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines
at the Franz Joseph Glacier

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 6th day
of April 1964
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order
in Council dated the 13th day of July 1960 and published in the
Gazette on the 14th day of the same month at page 915,
authorising the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand to
use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect
and use certain electric lines at Franz Joseph Glacier, by
deleting paragraph (d) of the General Description of Works
and Area of Supply and substituting therefor:
“GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS AND AREA OF SUPPLY
“(d) Electric lines leading from the powerhouse aforesaid
across part Blocks XII, XI, and VII; thence across
and along an unformed road in the Waiho Township;
thence across the main road to the licensee’s premises
and shown by means of a black line on the said plan,
and also such further lines as may from time to time
be necessary for the supplying of electrical energy
within a radius of 20 chains of the site of the old
Glacier Hotel situated in the Township of Waiho,
such area being shown bordered in red on plan
P.W.D. 98013 deposited in the office of the New
Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.
“(e) Electric lines leading from the Waiho Township in a
northerly direction across part Blocks XI and VII
along the eastern side of the Waiho Aerodrome to
the site of the new Glacier Hotel in Pt. R. 1639,
Block VIII, Waiho Survey District, and in a westerly
direction generally across the Waiho River, to two
farmhouses in Pt. 2197, Block XI, Waiho Survey
District, all as more particularly shown by the red
lines on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 634 deposited
in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Depart-
ment at Wellington.”

Adding Land to the Tongariro National Park

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day
of April 1964
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, as from
the date hereof, be added to and form part of the Tongariro
National Park, and shall hereafter be managed, administered,
and dealt with by the Tongariro National Park Board in
accordance with the provisions of the said Act.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—WAIMARINO COUNTY
Part Urewera 1c 2, and 1c 3, situated in Blocks XIII and
XIV, Ruapehu Survey District: Area, 1,626 acres and 15
perches, more or less. Part certificates of title, Volume 222,
folio 276, and Volume 205, folio 295. As shown on the plan
marked L. and S. 4/362/1 deposited in the Head Office, De-
partment of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon
edged red (M.L. Plan 2142, and D.P. 24188).
Also Lot 2, D.P. 18960, being part Urewera 1c 1, and 2E,
situated in Blocks IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Ruapehu Survey
District: Area, 1,087 acres 3 roods 10 perches, more or less.

of the District Valuation Roll for Chatham Islands shall be
postponed and that such revision shall thereupon be made
not later than the 31st day of March 1970.

the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

Governor-General hereby gives the following notice:

THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted
from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.

ALL that area of land containing 16 acres 2 roods 28·9
perches, more or less, being part Lot 1, D.P. 28499, and part
Lot 3, D.P. 1053, being part Allotment 9, Pepepe Parish,
situated in Block XV, Rangiriri Survey District, and being
part of the land in certificate of title, Volume 1290, folio 16,
South Auckland Registry (S.O. 42384), and being delineated
in a plan deposited in the Head Office of the Mines Depart-
ment at Wellington under H.O. file 11/12/12.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-

Appointment of Member of the New Zealand Naval Board
—
His Excellency the Governor-General has, pursuant to the
Navy Act 1954, approved the appointment of Captain
F. T. Healy, R.N., as Third Naval Member of the New Zea-
land Naval Board and Chief of Naval Technical Services with
effect from 1 May 1964 (to serve in the rank of Commodore
whilst holding this appointment).
