NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS
AMENDMENT ACT 1963
The provisions of this Act, which comes into force on 1 April
next, restrict the right to commence the public practice of
accountancy under a designation including the term
“accountant” to members of the Society or of a body
recognised by the New Zealand Society of Accountants.
Provision is also made for persons so practising for a period
of 12 months in the three years prior to the passing of the
Act to obtain a licence from the Society to continue to
do so under their present designation, subject to their arrang-
ing a fidelity bond and to their observing the Society’s Rules
and code of professional conduct.
Persons who are not members of the Society who are
practising as accountants and who wish to obtain a licence
to continue to do so under their present designation are
invited to communicate with the Society as soon as possible
to enable completion of the necessary formalities at an early
date.
Inquiries should be addressed to the Secretary, New Zealand
Society of Accountants, P.O. Box 5039, Wellington C.1.
A W GRAHAM, Secretary.
