BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF MARLBOROUGH
All that area in the Marlborough Land District bounded
by a line commencing at Trig. Station B (Editor Hill) in
Block VI, Tennyson Survey District; thence proceeding south-
easterly generally along the summit of the Opouri Range
and the summit of the northern watershed of the Kaiuma
Stream to Black Point (Whataaruhe) in Block V, Linkwater
Survey District; thence easterly along Mahau Sound to a
point in line with the western boundary of part Section 21,
Pelorus Sound Registration District, in Block VI, Linkwater
Survey District; thence southerly generally along a right
line to the north-western corner of the said part Section 21
and continuing southerly along a right line to the south-
east corner of Lot 4, D.P. 1760, in Block VI aforesaid
and the production of that line to the north shore of Queen
Charlotte Sound; thence easterly generally along Queen
Charlotte Sound to Karaka Point in Block VII, Arapawa
Survey District, and along the mean high-water mark of
Queen Charlotte Sound and Tory Channel to a point in
Opua Bay in line with the south-west boundary of Section 3,
Block XIII, Arapawa Survey District; thence south-easterly
generally to and along that boundary and the south-western
boundary of Section 4, Block XIV, Arapawa Survey District,
and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the
mean high-water mark of Island Bay in Block XIV, afore-
said; thence southerly generally along the mean high-water
mark to the middle of the mouth of the Awatere River;
thence up the middle line of that river to a point in line
with the south-western boundary of Section 30, Wakefield
Downs Registration District, in Block VIII, Clifford Bay
Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along that
boundary and its production to the middle line of the Red-
wood Pass Road; thence south-westerly along that middle
line to the intersection with the middle line of the unformed
legal road forming the south-west boundary of Section 29,
Wakefield Downs Registration District; thence north-westerly
along the middle line of the said unformed road and the
south-west boundary of part Lot 8, D.P. 620, and its pro-
ductions across the South Island Main Trunk Railway and
the south-west boundary of Section 2, Block V, Clifford
Bay Survey District, and its production across State High-
way No. 1 to the south-east boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 1688;
thence north-easterly along a right line to and along the
south-east boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 953, and north-
westerly along the north-eastern boundary to the northern
corner of the said Lot 1; thence south-westerly along the
north-west boundary of the said Lot 1 and its production
to and along the north-west boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 1688,
and its production to the middle line of Boundary Stream
in Block IV, Clifford Bay Survey District; thence north-
westerly along the said middle line to Maxwell Pass, and
westerly and southerly along the middle of a tributary of
the Taylor River to its confluence with the Taylor River in
Block IX, Taylor Pass Survey District; thence due south to the
south-western side of Taylor Pass Road and southerly
generally along that roadside to a point due north of the
confluence of the Taylor Pass Creek with the Taylor River
in Block XIII, Taylor Pass Survey District; thence due
south to the middle line of the Taylor River; thence south-
westerly generally up the said middle line to a point in line
with the south-west boundary of Section 44, Omaka Regis-
tration District, in Block XII, Taylor Pass Survey District;
thence south-westerly generally to and along the watershed
between the Wairau and Awatere Rivers to its intersection
in Block IV, Barefell Survey District, with a right line from
Barefell Pass to Trig. Station Top 2 (near Tophouse);
thence north-westerly along that right line to the said Trig.
Station Top 2, in Block III, Raglan Survey District; thence
north-easterly along a right line to Wards Pass in Block VII,
Patriarch Survey District and along the summit of the range
being the northern watershed of the Wairau River to Slaty
Peak at the source of the Pelorus River; thence continuing
north-easterly down the middle of the Pelorus River to its
confluence with the Heringa Stream in Block VII, Heringa
Survey District; thence north-westerly generally to and along
the said middle line of the Heringa Stream to its source
and along a right line to Trig. Station B (Saddle Hill); thence
north-easterly generally along the summit of the north-
west watershed of the Pelorus River to Trig. Station B
(Editor Hill), the point of commencement; excluding there-
from the Boroughs of Blenheim, hereinbefore described, and
Picton, as described in Gazette, 1882, page 126.

BOUNDARIES OF OMAKA RIDING
All that area in Marlborough County bounded by a line
commencing at a point on mean high-water mark of the sea
at the left bank of the Wairau River in Block XVII, Cloudy
Bay Survey District; thence proceeding generally south-
easterly, south-westerly, and north-westerly along the bound-
ary of the Marlborough County as hereinbefore described
to its intersection with the south-western side of Taylor Pass
Road in Block XIII, Taylor Pass Survey District; thence
westerly generally along the southern side of the said road
to a point in line with the south-west boundaries of Section
15 and closed road, Block VIII, Taylor Pass Survey District;
thence north-westerly generally to and along the said bound-
aries and the south-western boundaries of Section 14, Block
VIII aforesaid and the production of the last-mentioned
boundary to the western side of Taylor Pass Road; thence
northerly generally along the western side of the said road
to the south-east corner of part Section 1 of 28 (Public
Cemetery), Omaka Registration District, in Block III, Taylor
Pass Survey District; thence easterly to and along the
southern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 771, and Section 8,
Block III aforesaid, to the south-east corner of the said
Section 8; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the
said Section 8 to its intersection with the boundary of the
Borough of Blenheim as hereinbefore described at the north-
east corner of the said Section 8; thence westerly and
northerly along the said Borough boundary to the north-east
corner of part Section 8, Omaka Registration District, in
Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence westerly
along a right line to and along the northern boundaries of
parts Section 10 and Sections 12 and part 14, Omaka
Registration District, and Lot 1, D.P. 1644, and the pro-
duction of the last-mentioned boundary across St. Leonards
Road, and along the northern boundaries of parts Section 18,
Wairau Registration District, parts Section 20, Omaka
Registration District, parts Sections 22 and 24, Wairau Regis-
tration District, and the production of the last-mentioned
boundary to the west side of Grahams Road in Block XIV,
Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence southerly along the western
side of the said road to the northern boundary of part Section
77, Wairau Registration District; thence westerly along the
northern boundary of the said part Section 77 to the right
bank of the Fairhall River and along a right line to the
intersection of the left bank of the said river and the eastern
boundary of part Section 76, Omaka Registration District;
thence northerly along the said eastern boundary and westerly
along the northern boundary of the said part Section 76
and the northern boundary of part Section 76, Wairau
Registration District and its production to the south-east
corner of part Section 89, Omaka Registration District;
thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said part
Section 89 to the southern side of State Highway No. 6
(Middle Renwick Road); thence westerly along the southern
side of the said Highway and State Highway No. 63 to a
point in line with the eastern side of a public road form-
ing the western boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 2245; thence
northerly to and along the eastern side of the said road
and its production to the middle line of the Opawa River
in Section 5, Block IX, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence
easterly generally along the middle line of the Opawa River
to its intersection with the middle line of the old bed of
