Maori Land Releases and Boundary Definitions




Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Maniapoto Development Scheme)

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of
the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described
in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 24
March 1939, published in the Gazette, 30 March 1939,
Volume I, page 768, and registered as No. K. 23736.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

All that piece of land described and situated as follows:
A. R. P. Being
19 1 12 Rangitoto-Tuhua 35G 2A part, being part Lot I,
D.P. 14919 (C.T. 709/193), Blocks I and II,
Pakaumanu Survey District.

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date
of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to
the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 6
October 1936, published in the Gazette, 15 October 1936,
Volume II, page 1890, and registered as No. K. 24403.

the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described
in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said
land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 22 July 1938,
published in the Gazette, 28 July 1938, Volume II, page 1747,
and registered as No. W. 1486.

Boundaries of Borough of Blenheim and County of Marlborough and Omaka Riding of County of Marlborough Defined

Pursuant to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set
out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough
of Blenheim, the County of Marlborough, and the Omaka
Riding of the County of Marlborough, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on the
9th day of January 1962, and published in Gazette, 11 January
1962, No. 1, page 4.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF BLENHEIM

All that area in the Marlborough Land District bounded
by a line commencing at a point on the south side of the
Old Renwick Road at the north-west corner of Lot 1, D.P.
416, being part Section 52, Omaka Registration District, in
Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District; and proceeding
easterly along the south sides of the Old Renwick Road
and Robinson Street, to its intersection with Fell Street
at the northernmost point of part Lot 61, D.P. 538; thence
along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 72,
Block XVI aforesaid; thence easterly and southerly along
the southern and western boundaries of the said Section
72 to the southernmost corner of the said Section 72 on
the old right bank of the Opawa River; thence easterly
generally along the said old right bank to its junction with
the present right bank of the Opawa River near Grove
Road; thence south-easterly and south-westerly generally
along the present right bank of the Opawa River to a point
in line with the western boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 1248, being
part Section 24, Wairau Registration District; thence southerly
to and along that boundary and its production across Dillons
Point Road and along the western boundary of part Section
24, Wairau Registration District, as shown on D.P. 906, to
the left bank of the Opawa River; thence along a right line
across the said river to the north-western corner of Lot 2,
D.P. 1042; thence southerly along the western boundary of
the said Lot 2 and its production across State Highway No. 1,
and along the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 881, to its
intersection with the north-eastern boundary of the South
Island Main Trunk Railway; thence westerly along a right
line to the intersection of the south-western boundary of the
said railway and the production of the middle line of
Stephenson Street; thence westerly along that production to
the eastern side of Stuart Street; thence southerly along
the eastern side of Stuart Street and westerly along the
southern side of Stephenson Street to a point in line with
the eastern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 1963; thence southerly
to and along that boundary and the eastern boundaries
of Lot 9, D.P. 1963, part Lots 13 and 12, D.P. 5, Lot 1,
D.P. 113, Muller Road and Lot 7, D.P. 2126, to the south-eastern corner of the said Lot 7; thence westerly along the
southern boundaries of Lots 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, D.P.
2126, Lots 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 1, D.P. 67, to a
point 262.5 links distant east of the Redwood Street frontage
of the said Lot 1; thence southerly along a right line to a
point 850 links south of the southern side of Wither Road
and 250 links east of the eastern side of Redwood Street
in Block IV, Taylor Pass Survey District; thence westerly
along a line parallel to and distant 850 links from the
south side of Wither Road to the middle line of Redwood
Street; thence southerly along the said middle line to a
point in line with the southern boundary of part Section 23,
Block IV, Taylor Pass Survey District; thence westerly to
and along that boundary and northerly along the western
boundary of the said part Section 23 to a point 850 links
south of the south side of Wither Road; thence westerly
along a line parallel to and 850 links south of the said south
side of Wither Road to the eastern boundary of Lot 15,
D.P. 2203; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries
of Lots 15, 16, and 17, D.P. 2203, and the production of
the last-mentioned boundary to the north-east corner of

and Lot 2 aforesaid and the production of the last-mentioned
boundary to the middle line of Taylor Pass Road; thence
northerly along the said middle line to its intersection with
the middle line of the unformed legal road forming the
western boundary of Section 1 of 27, Omaka Registration
District; thence northerly along the middle line of the said
unformed road and its production to the northern side of
the New Renwick Road in Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey
District; thence easterly along the northern side of the said
road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section
8, Omaka Registration District; thence northerly to and
along that boundary and the eastern boundaries of Section 7,
Omaka Registration District, and Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 1317,
to the right bank of the Yelverton Stream; thence generally
easterly along the said right bank to its intersection with
the left bank of the Taylor River and continuing easterly
across that river to its right bank; thence north-easterly
generally along the said right bank to the middle line of
George Street; thence westerly along the said middle line
to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 3, D.P.
2059; thence northerly to and along that boundary and the
western boundaries of Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 2059, Lots 2 and 1,
