Notice in writing of the name of such delegate and the date of his appointment shall be forwarded to the secretary of the society immediately after such election. A casual vacancy shall be deemed to arise on the resignation, disability, or incapacity, however the same shall occur, or death of any delegate, but shall not include inability to attend any particular meeting. Delegates shall have all the powers of councillors except that they may not be elected to the position of President of the society.

33.(a) Each of the following subcommittees as at present established shall henceforth be known as branches and shall continue as heretofore until action is taken by the Council under the provisions of subclause (b) of this rule: Eketahuna; Hunterville; Marton-Bulls; Otaki-Levin; Palmerston North; Pahiatua; Rangiwahia; Taihape; Wairarapa North, Wairarapa South, and Southern.

(b) The Council may define and allot to any branch the area in which such branch shall function and may prescribe such rules or bylaws consistent with these rules as it may deem fit for its constitution and for the conduct of its business and may from time to time alter or amend the description of such areas or the said rules or bylaws and may combine such one or more districts and may establish any other districts or branches, and may provide for the election or re-election of delegates thereof as may be thought fit.
