under the above-mentioned Act for the erection of a borough depot, the said Eastbourne Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of point one six five pence (0·165d.) in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the whole of the Borough of Eastbourne; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and amendments, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and amendment, and regulations thereunder, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of twenty-three thousand nine hundred pounds (£23,900) to be known as the Redemption Loan No. 9 1963, £23,900, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of repaying on maturity that portion of the Waterworks Development Additional Loan 1952, £93,500, which matures on 22 February 1964, and the cost of raising the loan, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-first of one penny (½₁ of 1d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of Auckland City comprising the whole of the City of Auckland; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”

BLENHEIM BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
IN the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and the Public Works Act 1928, notice is hereby given that the Blenheim Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, the construction of a car park; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk, situate in Alfred Street, Blenheim, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All person affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at his office, Alfred Street, Blenheim.

Public Notification of Review of District Scheme Extension of Time for Objections
THE period for the receipt of objections to the district scheme of the Borough of Matamata has been extended from 13 December 1963 to 24 January 1964.
This amends the closing time for the receipt of objections as previously advertised.

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
Operative District Scheme Change Approved
PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 and the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, public notice is hereby given of the subject matter of an application consented to by the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board as stated hereunder:
Under section 35 of the above-mentioned Act:
Applicant: Wellington City Council.
Terms of Consent: Specified departure permitting the applicant Council to use the land described in the Schedule hereto for the erection of a building for the purpose of dressing and storing timber, notwithstanding that the land is at present zoned for residential purposes, but subject, however, to the following conditions:

That the means of ingress and egress for heavy traffic be from Miro Street or elsewhere as directed by the Upper Hutt Borough Council.

That the proposed building for the dressing and storing of timber be not larger than 100 ft by 50 ft.

That the hours of work be restricted to between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
-
That the Upper Hutt Borough Council at this stage does not favour any extension of this use of the water board land.
-
That no sawing or milling be carried out on this site.
SCHEDULE
ALL that parcel of land containing 2 acres 3 roods, more or less, being part of Section 94, Hutt District (Borough of Upper Hutt), which is more particularly shown on the plan submitted.
Effective date: 13 November 1963.
The consent of the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board is contained in appeal No. 68/63.
