Approval of Dual Headlight Systems

PURSUANT to regulation 49 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves the use of the dual headlight system described in the Schedule hereto as a compliance with regulation 35 (1) of the said regulations relating to the fitting of headlamps.

SCHEDULE

TUNG-SOL dual sealed-beam apparatus consisting of two units, each unit incorporating two headlamps embossed with the symbols “1” and “2X” respectively, and having a lens diameter of 5¾ in. When in use all four headlamps shall be illuminated to provide the main beams, and the two headlamps embossed with the symbols “2X” shall be illuminated to provide the dipped beams.

Bylaw Prohibiting Stock on part of the Mangamuka Hill Section of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff)

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962 and the National Roads Act 1953 and to all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling it, the National Roads Board hereby makes the following bylaw:

BYLAW

  1. This bylaw may be cited as the National Roads Board Bylaw 1963, No. 1.
  2. This bylaw shall come into force on the 18th day of November 1963 and shall remain in force only until the 20th day of December 1963.
  3. No person shall drive or cause to be driven or permit or allow any horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, or other animals on that portion of the Mangamuka Hill Section of No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) between the southern Peria turn-off and Makene Road.
  4. Every person who commits an offence against this bylaw is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £20.

This bylaw was made by resolution duly passed at a meeting of the National Roads Board held in Wellington on the 11th day of November 1963.
