Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Whangamata Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 6 July 1959, published in the Gazette, 9 July 1959, Volume II, page 916, and registered as No. S. 167413.

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 15—Review of Import Duties on Multiple-walled Insulating Glass and Toughened Glass Door Assemblies Including Fittings Therefor
—
- Notice is hereby given that the Tariff and Development Board is at present considering an application for a reduction in the rates of import duty on the following goods:
Multiple-walled insulating glass.
Toughened glass door assemblies including fittings therefor imported therewith as complete units, viz: top and bottom rails, patch fittings, hinges, top centre pivots, locks and keepers, floor springs, spring door closers, door stops, door holders and letter plates; all the foregoing of metal, also handles of metal, plastic, glass, or wood.
Multiple-walled insulating glass is at present classified under Tariff item 664.910.4 and toughened glass door assemblies, including fittings therefor imported therewith, are included in Tariff item 665.890.9. The present rates of import duty in respect of these items are:
British Preferential: 22½ per cent.
Most Favoured Nation: 40 per cent.
General: 60 per cent.

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of this application should do so in writing by forwarding 10 copies of a typewritten statement of objection to the under-named so as to reach him not later than 31 October 1963.

The statement should give full particulars of the reasons for the objection, including the description, range, and prices of any New Zealand made products which it is considered would be affected by any reduction in the present rates of duty.
