HOBSON COUNTY COUNCIL

TAKING OF LAND FOR ROAD AND STOPPING OF ROAD

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the First Schedule hereto for road, and to take the land in the Second Schedule hereto for severance, and to stop the portion of road described in the Third Schedule hereto; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken and of the road so required to be stopped is deposited in the office of the Hobson County Council at Dargaville and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land or the stopping of the said road should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of such land or the stopping of such road, set forth the same in writing and send such written objections within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Hobson County Council at Dargaville.

CITY OF NEW PLYMOUTH

CENTRAL AREA DISTRICT PLANNING SCHEME

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to regulation 32 (8) of the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, that, by decision dated the 27th day of August 1963, the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board consented to the application of Woolworths (New Zealand) Ltd. for a departure, under section 35 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, from the above district scheme for its premises in Devon Street, New Plymouth.

The substance and effect of the consent is to allow the applicant company to build over more than 85 per cent of its property subject to the conditions:

(i) That there shall not at any time be any display windows on any part of the buildings on the site which has a frontage to James Lane.

(ii) That the applicant company shall not at any time allow any person, firm, or company to occupy any part of the said buildings which has a frontage to James Lane, whether as tenant or otherwise.

The full description of the land is shown in the said application which, together with the plans mentioned therein, may be inspected, without fee, at any time during office hours at the Town Clerk’s Office, Liardet Street, New Plymouth.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

Changes to City of Christchurch District Scheme—Section One (Zoning)

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to resolutions of the Council dated 20 March 1963, 15 July 1963, and 19 August 1963, it has been recommended that the operative district scheme be changed in respect of the matters listed in the Schedule hereunder.

The changes of the district scheme as now recommended by the Council are deposited in the Council offices, 194 Manchester Street, the Public Library, and the Opawa Branch Library, and are there open for inspection without fee to all persons interested therein at any time when the above places are open to the public.

Objections to the proposed changes of the district scheme may be made in written notice on Form E prescribed in the Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, or to the like effect marked “Objection to Scheme Change” and lodged at the offices of the Council at any time not later than noon on Tuesday, 12 November 1963. An appropriate form for use by objectors is available at the Council offices and libraries.

At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection. Any person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will then be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he notifies the Council in writing within a period of which public notice will be given.

SCHEDULE

PROPOSED CHANGES—ZONING

  1. The unformed portion of Kennedy Crescent (now closed) be zoned Industrial “C”.

  2. All the land in the blocks bounded by Durham, Kilmore, and Colombo Streets, Cambridge Terrace and Chester Streets, excluding the land contained in certificate of title, Volume 200, folio 230, Canterbury Land Registry, and owned by the Salvation Army Property Board, zoned Commercial “B”, to be designated also for “Civic Centre” purposes.

  3. The land contained in Lot 10, D.P. 22298, being the south-eastern corner of Walcot Street and MacGregors Road, be rezoned from Residential “A” to Commercial “A”.

  4. The land in Lot 2, D.P. 16366, being certificate of title, Volume 566, folio 44, Canterbury Land Registry, and known as 30 Lane Street, be changed from Residential “A” to Industrial “B”.

  5. Code of Ordinances—Modification of Bulk and Location Requirements

The Council may, in the case of any particular site, either absolutely or conditionally modify or dispense with any one or more of the bulk and location requirements prescribed in Ordinance 9 if it is satisfied that:

(a) It is not reasonable or practicable to enforce those requirements in respect of that site; and

(b) The modification or dispensation will not detract in any material way from the amenities of adjoining properties or the neighbourhood generally.

Provided that the total amount of gross floor space does not exceed that prescribed in the Code of Ordinances.

Provided, however, that the provisions of this Ordinance shall leave unaffected the powers of the Council given by Ordinance 8 in respect of “Conditional Uses.”
