Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a marae for the common use and benefit of the members of the Ngati Tokanui and Ngati Tara tribes.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 (5) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes the Order in Council made on 2 June 1948 and published in Gazette, 10 June 1948, Volume I, page 711, and affecting the Maori freehold land set out in the Schedule hereto.

Notice of Bombing and Gunnery Areas

It is hereby notified that bombing and gunnery practice will take place from time to time in the areas known as the Hauraki Gulf Bombing and Gunnery Area and Aha-aha Rock Bombing Range, being the areas described in the Schedule hereunder.

All aircraft using these areas will be duly authorised for this purpose by the Commanding Officer, RNZAF Station, Hobsonville. The notice published in Gazette, No. 13, 24 February 1955, page 285, is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

  1. Hauraki Gulf Bombing and Gunnery Area: That area enclosed by a line commencing at a point 36° 33′ S, 175° 03′ E; thence to a point 36° 33′ S, 175° 17′ E; thence to a point 36° 40′ S, 175° 17′ E; thence to a point 36° 40′ S, 175° 03′ E, and thence to the commencing point.

  2. Aha-aha Rock Bombing Range: The position of this rock is 36° 41′ 33″ S, 175° 01′ 33″ E and the danger area is within a circle centred on the rock of 600 yards radius.
