Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Pursuant to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Governor of the Reserve Bank, acting with the authority of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as from 20 August 1963, the balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each other bank for the time being carrying on business in New Zealand in accordance with the said section 45 shall be such that, when added to that bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes, it shall be equal to not less that 31 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 10 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933.

Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand.

For the purpose of this calculation a bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1955.

Unclaimed Property—Notice of Election by the Public Trustee to Become Manager Under Public Trust Office Act 1957, Part V

Whereas, after due inquiry, it is not known where the several owners of the properties described in the Schedule hereto are or whether they or any of them are alive or dead; and whereas the gross value of the said properties (as estimated by the Public Trustee) does not exceed £2,000 and, for the purposes of subsection (2) of section 80 of the Public Trust Office Act 1957, the Public Trustee is satisfied that it is advisable that he should become the manager of the said properties.

Now, therefore, the Public Trustee, in exercise of the authority conferred upon him by the said subsection (2), hereby elects to be manager of the said properties under Part V of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

First, all that piece of land situated at Kaitoke containing 2 acres 3 roods 33'93 perches, more or less, being Allotments 1 and 19 on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington under No. 111 and being part of Section 420 of the Hutt District, and the residue of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 27, folio 246, Wellington Registry. The land has a frontage to the Great North Road and the registered proprietor is John Ferguson of Wellington, grocer.

Second, all that piece of land situated at Kaitoke, aforesaid, containing 3 acres and 18 perches, more or less, being Allotment 30 on the plan deposited as aforesaid under No. 111 being part of Section 420 of the Hutt District and the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 27, folio 248, Wellington Registry. The land has a frontage to the Great North Road and the registered proprietor is Richard Edward Harman of Wellington, manager of Thorndon Baths.

Third, all that piece of land situated at Kaitoke, aforesaid, containing 1 acre 2 roods 9 perches, more or less, being Allotment 31 on the plan deposited as aforesaid, under No. 111 being part of Section 420 of the Hutt District and the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 27, folio 250, Wellington Registry. The land has a frontage to the Great North Road and the registered proprietors are Thomas Kennedy MacDonald, Robert Greenfield, and Edward William Mills.

The Standards Act 1941—Draft New Zealand Specification No. D 7462: General Requirements for Electrical Appliances and Accessories (Revision of N.Z.S.S. 1300: 1958)

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

All persons who may be affected by this specification and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies on loan from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag, Wellington C.1.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 4 October 1963.
