Boundaries of County of Horowhenua and Borough of Levin Altered

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency, the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

That on and from the 10th day of July 1963, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Horowhenua and included in the Borough of Levin.

That the alteration of the boundaries of the said County and the said Borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Horowhenua County containing 830 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-eastern side of Makomako Road in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 111, D.P. 688, being also a point on the boundary of the Borough of Levin as described in Gazette, 1906, page 652, and proceeding south-easterly towards the said south-eastern boundary to the middle of Makomako Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 19818; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary and the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 3 and 1, D.P. 15701, to the south-western side of Horowhenua Road West, along a right line to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 13, D.P. 16462, Section 23, Levin Suburban, and Lot 6, D.P. 16312, and the production of the last mentioned boundary to the middle of the original Kawiu Road; thence generally south-easterly along the middle of that road, Patikei Road, and again Kawiu Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Horowhenua A 3B, to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Horowhenua A 3A and A 2A, and the south-eastern boundary of Horowhenua A 2K, to and along the north-eastern side of Kawiu Road to the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 12053; thence generally north-easterly along that boundary, the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Horowhenua A 2A, to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Horowhenua 11B 36·2 JB, to and along the south-western boundary of Horowhenua 11B 36·2 JA, and its production to the eastern side of No. 1 State Highway (The Avenue), along that side to its intersection with the north-western boundary of the Wellington-Foxton Railway, along a right line towards the northern corner of Lot 1, D.P. 20797, to the south-western boundary of the said railway, and along that boundary to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 1799; thence generally south-easterly to and along that boundary, to and along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Lot 6, D.P. 1799, to and along the north-western, south-western and south-eastern boundaries of part Horowhenua 2B, comprised in C.T. 727/46, to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 11, D.P. 1824, and its production to the middle of Fairfield Road; thence generally south-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 20, D.P. 1824, to and along that boundary to and along the north-western boundary of part Section 30, Levin Suburban, comprised in C.T. 116/123, to the north-eastern side of No. 57 State Highway (Horowhenua Road East); thence south-easterly along that side of its production to the middle of Arapaepae Road; thence south-westerly along the middle line of that road to its intersection with a line parallel to and 5 chains south-westward of the north-eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 13474; thence north-westerly along that line to its intersection with the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 13474; thence southwesterly along that boundary and its production to the middle of Tararua Road; thence generally north-westerly along the middle line of that road and its production to the south-western boundary of the Wellington-Foxton Railway, along that boundary to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 20, Horowhenua Settlement, to and along that boundary to and along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Section 47, Horowhenua Settlement, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to and along the middle of Bruce Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 42, Horowhenua Settlement, to and along that boundary to the western corner of that section; thence generally north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that section and its production to and along the middle of Hokio Beach Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 17145, and along a right line to the western corner of the said Lot 2, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Levin aforesaid; thence south-easterly, north-easterly, north-westerly, and generally south-westerly along the south-western, south-eastern, north-eastern, and generally north-western boundaries of the said borough to the point of commencement.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 175 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Auckland Harbour Board to reclaim from the sea at Freeman’s Bay, Auckland Harbour, 2 roods 5·7 perches of land, as shown on plan marked M.D. 11496 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.
