Amendments to Rules of Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand
PURSUANT to section 11 of the Sharebrokers Act 1908, the Governor-General in Council on 17 July 1963 approved the following amendments to the rules of the Stock Exchange Association.
AMENDMENTS TO RULES
- The Interpretations contained in the rules are amended by:
(i) Deleting from the fourth paragraph therein the word “only” occurring in the first line of such paragraph.
(ii) By adding the following definition:
“‘Flotation’ includes an increase of share or loan capital including an increase by way of issue of convertible notes and also includes any offer of shares or debentures for sale to the public as defined for the purposes of section 55 of the Companies Act 1955 or any Act amending or in substitution for the same.”

Rule 103 is amended by deleting the words “both brokers” where the same occur in the second line and substituting therefor the words “all members”.

Rule 112A is amended by:
(i) Deleting from paragraph (ii) the word “not” occurring in the third line.
(ii) Deleting from paragraph (ii) all the words occurring after the words “not later than” therein and substituting therefor the following words: “the next official call meeting after such sale was made”.
- Rule 135 is amended by adding a further subclause (3) to the proviso reading:
(3) “Fire insurance companies and building societies”.
- Rule 140 is amended by:
(i) Adding the following proviso to paragraph (iv) thereof “Provided that a consent given in this behalf shall be deemed to be an authority for all other members to so act”.
(ii) Adding the following paragraph as paragraph (vi):
“Where a member has sought and been granted permission to act as a broker or underwriter in connection with a non-member then such member shall be responsible for any action by the non-member which, if committed by the member so acting, would have been a breach of these rules.”
- Rule 140A is deleted and replaced by the following rule:
“140A. Except with the prior consent of the Committee and upon such terms and conditions as it may decide, no member shall accept money on interest-bearing deposit. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this rule no member shall accept money on deposit (whether interest bearing or not) from any company in which that member or any of his partners is a shareholder. Provided, however, that nothing in this rule shall be construed as preventing or restricting the borrowing of money by a member from his bankers in the ordinary course of business.”

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointment, promotion, relinquishment of temporary rank, extensions of commissions, and date of retirement, cancellation of commission, resignation, and retirements of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Appointment
Kenneth Roope Brooking (552544) is granted a short-service commission in the General Duties Branch, Regular Air Force, for a period ending 14 July 1968 to be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. He is appointed in the rank of Flying Officer, with seniority from 15 July 1961, with effect from 15 July 1963.
Cancellation of Commission
The commission of Acting Pilot Officer Gerald Charles Barnard (80764) is cancelled, with effect from 15 July 1963.

Flight Lieutenant Noel Douglas Dunlop (70481) to be Squadron Leader, with effect from 20 May 1963.

Relinquishment of Temporary Rank
Flying Officer (temporary Flight Lieutenant) Elf ric James Insull, B.COM., F.R.A.N.Z. (132413), ceases to be attached to the Air Training Corps and relinquishes the temporary rank of Flight Lieutenant, with effect from 10 July 1963.
