His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby appoints:
George Edward Cox, Esquire, M.B.E., E.D., of Wellington, in
lieu of Sir James Lawrence Hay, of Christchurch, resigned
and
Mrs Susan Amy Barnicoat, O.B.E., of Wellington, in lieu of
Edgar Oliver Faber, Esquire, O.B.E., of Auckland, resigned,
to be members of the Distribution Committee for the provi-
sion of social amenities and the promotion of social welfare;
and hereby further appoints,
Gordon Drummond Stewart, Esquire, of Wellington, to be
Chairman of the aforesaid committee.

Exempting Land in the Taranaki Land District from the
Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the
Governor-General hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE
THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted
from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land containing 38·9 perches, more or less,
situated in Block X, Mapara Survey District, being Lot 3 on
Deposited Plan 9146, being part of Section 14, Block X,
Mapara Survey District, and being part of the land in certifi-
cate of title, Volume A1, folio 724 (New Plymouth Land
Registry).
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General this 9th day of July 1963.
