TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

Departure from Operative District Scheme

PUBLIC notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 and its amendments, and of the regulations made thereunder, that the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board, by order dated the 20th day of June 1963, gave consent to a departure from the Operative District Scheme (Combined Area Section) of the County of Taranaki to the extent indicated hereunder:

By granting the right to McKechnie Bros. (N.Z.) Ltd. in respect of certain lands at Bell Block containing 42·5 acres bordering Paraita and Henwood Roads and Railway to erect buildings and carry on as predominant uses their existing industries (including manufacture and processing of all non-ferrous metals) being predominant uses under Industrial D Zoning and as conditional uses such other industries now carried on by them being conditional uses in the said scheme subject to the following conditions:

(1) Reserving liberty to apply if it is desired to carry on other allied industries or to have associated companies on the said lands.

(2) Such use and occupation is subject to Industrial D provisions and also conditions prohibiting buildings or hoardings within 33 feet of present middle line of adjoining roads, or on lands required for public road and requiring dedication of 20 links along road frontages without compensation, and for the land for proposed road connecting Henwood and Paraita Roads to be acquired by the Council at the same price per acre as paid by McKechnie Bros. (N.Z.) Ltd.

A copy of the order is available for public inspection at the Office of the Taranaki County Council, Robe Street, New Plymouth, during office hours.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

An Act to amend the provisions of the Auckland Gas Company’s Act 1871.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland Gas Co. Ltd. (hereinafter called “the company”) intends to apply for leave to bring into the House of Representatives, during the present session of Parliament, a Private Bill the short title of which is the Auckland Gas Company Amendment Act 1963.

The objects of the proposed Bill are to add a definition of the term “gas” to provide that the term “gas” shall include natural gas and to extend the definition of the expression “Resident Magistrate” to include a Stipendiary Magistrate; to increase the penalties provided by the principal Act to amounts more appropriate to present circumstances; to add a provision that the imposition of a penalty under section 25 of the principal Act shall not prevent the company from recovering the value of any gas wasted or lost or from recovering at law any other sum or sums which apart from that section it would have been entitled to recover; to add to section 35 of the principal Act a provision that the bylaws and regulations made under that section shall not be repugnant not only to the principal Act or to the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 but also to the Counties Act 1956; to repeal section 41 of and the Schedule to the principal Act dealing with the form of a conviction for any offence under the principal Act as being no longer appropriate; and to extend the limits of the principal Act to include the City of Auckland and the area within a radius of twelve and one-half miles from a centre at the Post Office, Jean Batten Place, Auckland in place of the present limit of the City of Auckland and such parts of the suburbs and vicinity thereof as lie within a radius of ten miles from a centre at the Post Office, Shortland Street, Auckland.

The Bill is promoted by the company, whose address to which communications or notices may be sent is at the offices of Messrs Buddle, Weir, and Co., Solicitors, Fourth Floor, A.M.P. Building, Queen Street, Auckland.

A copy of the proposed Bill may be inspected at the above-mentioned address.

Private Act of Parliament to be termed Liddle Adoption Discharge Act 1963.

I, Scott Alan Liddle, of 8 Mackelvie Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland, freezing works employee, hereby give notice that I am about to apply to the Clerk of the House of Representatives for the promotion and passing of a Private Act of Parliament to annul Order of Adoption relating to myself made in the Magistrate’s Court at Kaikohe on 20 January 1955.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.
