Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 11—Public Inquiry into Import Duties on Certain Saws, Saw Blades and Blading

  1. The Tariff and Development Board proposes to inquire into and report on the question of what rates of import duty should be imposed on the under-mentioned goods:
    Item No.
    695.210.2 Blades for butchers' saws and for tubular frame firewood or pulpwood saws.
    Ex695.210.3 Band saw blading up to 4 in. in width; circular saw blades up to 12 in. in diameter, but excluding inserted tooth tungsten carbide saw blades.
    695.210.4 Tubular frame firewood or pulpwood saws.
    The present rates of import duty in respect of these goods are:

  2. For the purpose of taking evidence the Board will hold a public inquiry commencing on Thursday, 5 September 1963, at 10 a.m., in Room 102, First Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington.

  3. Any person who intends to tender evidence should comply with the "Notes for the Guidance of Witnesses" which have been prepared by the Board. A copy of these notes may be obtained from the under-named.

  4. Twelve copies of a typewritten statement of the evidence to be tendered, compiled in accordance with those notes, should be lodged with the under-named not later than 22 August 1963. Each statement will in general need to be presented under oath at the public inquiry by the person tendering it.
