Meeting of Shareholders—Thursday, 27 June 1963, at 3.15 p.m.

Meeting of Creditors—Thursday, 27 June 1963, at 3.30 p.m.

At each meeting an account will be laid before it, showing how the winding up has been conducted and the assets disposed of during the fourth year of liquidation and to receive any explanations thereof by the liquidator.

“That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up, and that accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily.”

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1955 and in the matter of S. M. Newman Ltd. (in liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that the undersigned, the liquidator of S. M. Newman Ltd., which is being wound up voluntarily, does hereby fix the 28th day of June 1963 as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 308 of the Companies Act 1955, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before the debts are proved or, as the case may be, from objecting to the distribution.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 30th day of May 1963, presented to the said Court by Charles Martin Carroll, of Hamilton, Acting District Commissioner of Taxes; and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Hamilton, on Friday, the 5th day of July 1963, at 10 a.m., and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose and a copy of the petition will be furnished by the undersigned to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring a copy on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

THE POVERTY BAY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
———

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Poverty Bay Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of two hundred and sixty thousand pounds (£260,000) authorised to be raised by the Poverty Bay Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending, improving, adding to, and reinforcing the reticulation in the constituent districts of the Cook County (including the Patutahi Town District), the Waikohu County, the Uawa County, the Waiapu County, and the City of Gisborne, and for purchasing equipment, plant, tools, instruments, motor vehicles, land, and the construction of buildings, the Poverty Bay Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-ninth of a penny (⅑d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in that portion of the Poverty Bay Electric Power District as is contained in the constituent districts of the Cook County (including the Patutahi Town District), the Waikohu County, the Uawa County, the Waiapu County, and the City of Gisborne; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years (25) years, or until the loan is duly paid up.”

“PURSUANT to the powers vested in it by section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Manurewa Borough Council hereby makes a consolidated special rate of two decimal two seven five pence (2·275d.) in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the whole district of the Borough of Manurewa, and such consolidated special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate and shall be in lieu of the following special rates:
