NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Ashburton Borough Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts,
to take certain land situated in the area bounded by Willow
Street, Beach Road, Leeston Street, and Suffolk Street, in the
Borough of Ashburton, for housing purposes; and notice is
hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be
taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk
to the said Council, situated in Havelock Street, Ashburton,
and is open for inspection, without fee, to all persons during
ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the taking of such land who have
any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land
must state their objections in writing and send the same,
within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Havelock Street, Ash-
burton.

Stone Fruit Growers Society Ltd.” (C. 1955/1) has changed
its name to “Canterbury Growers Society Ltd.”, and that the
new name was this day entered on my Register of Industrial
and Provident Societies in place of the former name.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies
has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act
1909, by writing under his hand dated this 23rd day of May
1963, cancelled the registry of Kilbirnie Tent, No. 82, of the
New Zealand Central District, No. 86, Independent Order
of Rechabites Friendly Society (Register No. 110/70), held at
Wellington, on the ground that the said branch has ceased
to exist.

MINING ACT 1926
NOTICE is hereby given that William David Bell, Diana Cecilia
Bell, and William John Gunn, of Roxburgh, have applied to
the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Cromwell, by
Application No. 36 of 1963, for a water race licence to divert
four heads of water from Elbow Creek, Benger Survey Dis-
trict, at a point approximately 40 chains above the No. 8
State Highway, by a race approximately 3 miles long in a
southerly direction through renewable lease of James Clow
Watson and Sections 33 and 46, Block V, Benger Survey
District, terminating at Washpool Creek, for irrigation,
domestic, and stock purposes.
The said application will be heard at the Warden’s Court,
Cromwell, on Wednesday, the 24th day of July 1963, at
10 a.m. Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s Office and
notified to the applicants at their address for service, care of
W. D. Bell, “Mt. Benger”, R.D. Roxburgh, at least three days
before the time so appointed.

OTAHUHU BOROUGH COUNCIL
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
Otahuhu Borough District Scheme Approval
PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Regulations
1960, public notification is hereby given that the district scheme
under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 was approved
by the Council, by resolution passed at its meeting held on
the 8th day of May 1963, after all objections, appeals, and
arbitrations relating to the scheme had been disposed of and
the scheme had been amended to give effect to all objections
and appeals allowed and all amendments of the district
scheme required by the Board had been incorporated.
The Council has also resolved that the scheme shall come
into operation on the 1st day of June 1963.
Copies of the scheme, as approved, have been deposited in
the Council’s office and in every public library in the district
and may be inspected, without fee, by any person who so
requires at any time when these places are open to the public.

Departure from Central Area District Scheme
NOTICE is given, under section 35 (3) of the Town and
Country Planning Act 1953 and regulation 32 (8) of the
Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, that the Town
and Country Planning Appeal Board has consented to a
specified departure from the provisions of the New Plymouth
City Council’s operative central area district scheme by per-
mitting the waiving of the Council’s requirement of a verandah
on a building proposed to be erected at the corner of Liardet
Street and Gill Street, New Plymouth, being Lots 1 and 2
on Deposited Plan No. 5563.

HENDERSON BOROUGH COUNCIL
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
Henderson District Scheme—Proposed Change
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to a resolution
of the Council on the 6th day of May 1963, the Council has
recommended that the operative district scheme be changed
in respect of the matter listed in the Schedule hereto.
The change has been deposited in the office of the Hender-
son Borough Council, Thomas Street, Henderson, and is there
open for inspection, without fee, at any time when the office
is open to the public.
Objections to the proposed change may be made by way
of written notice marked “Objections to Scheme Change” and
lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than
the 15th day of July 1963 on the appropriate form for use
of objections, available from the Council office.
At a later date every objection will be open for public
inspection. Any person who wishes to support or oppose any
objection will then be entitled to be heard at the hearing of
objections if he notifies the Town Clerk in writing within a
period of which public notice will be given.
