At the Government House at Wellington this 15th day of May 1963

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. That on and from the 1st day of June 1963, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Bay of Islands and included in the Borough of Kaikohe.

  2. That the alteration of the boundaries of the said county and the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Bay of Islands County, containing 3 acres 1 rood, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of Waikotihe Block in Block XV, Omapere Survey District, 44° 44′ 30″, 425·05 links from the westernmost corner of the said block and proceeding easterly along a right line 97° 45′ 30″, 963·41 links, passing through Waikotihe Block and Tuhuna 6B, to the western side of State Highway No. 12 (Taheke Road); thence south-easterly along a right line crossing the said highway to a point 188° 28′, 50·37 links from the northernmost corner of Tuhuna No. 15; thence easterly generally along a series of right lines 105° 23′, 515·30 links; 150° 30′, 415·61 links; 144° 26′, 1169·06 links; 101° 01′, 1323·2 links, and 23° 12′, 51·2 links, passing through Tuhuna No. 15, 16, 16A, again 16, and part Rangihamaama I to the boundary of the Borough of Kaikohe; thence westerly generally along that borough boundary, as described in Gazette, 1947, page 781, to the point of commencement.

Appointing the Port of Whangarei to be a Port of Registry

BERNARD FERGUSSON, Governor-General

PURSUANT to section 383 of the Shipping and Seamen Act 1952, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint the Port of Whangarei to be a port of registry for the registration of ships under the Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 11th day of May 1963.

Member of the State Services Commission Appointed

PURSUANT to section 3 of the State Services Act 1962, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint, for a term of three years commencing on the 1st day of May 1963,

to be a member of the State Services Commission.

Port Conciliation Committee for the Port of Tauranga Appointed

———

PURSUANT to the Waterfront Industry Act 1953, the Minister of Labour hereby appoints the following persons to be the Port Conciliation Committee for the Port of Tauranga for a term of one year expiring on the 31st day of May 1964.

James Ross Faulkner, Chairman; and

Charles Robert Faulkner, Deputy Chairman; and

Thomas Danvers McNee, Robert Arthur Owens, and James Claude Scott (nominated by the New Zealand Port Employers’ Association (Incorporated)); and

Keith McIntyre Cameron, Rennie Ormsby, and William Stephens (nominated by the Tauranga Harbour Waterfront Workers’ Industrial Union of Workers).

PURSUANT to section 21 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Judge of the Land Valuation Court, to be a temporary Judge of the Court of Arbitration for the period commencing on the 1st day of June 1963 and ending on the 31st day of March 1964.
