Roads Excluded from Speed Limitation and Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956 dated the 2nd day of June 1958† and the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956 dated the 28th day of July 1960‡ which relate to roads formerly in Waipa County and now in Te Awamutu Borough, and the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 28th day of August 1962§ which relates to Te Awamutu Borough, are hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Te Awamutu Borough—

No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) (from the northern boundary of Te Awamutu Borough to a point 2 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Wainui Avenue; and from the southern boundary of Te Awamutu Borough to a point 8 chains measured northerly generally along the said State highway from Bridgmans Road).

Hairini Road (from the eastern boundary of Te Awamutu Borough to a point 48 chains measured westerly generally along the said road from the said boundary).

Te Rahu Road (from the north-eastern boundary of Te Awamutu Borough to a point 26 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the said boundary).

Roads Excluded from Speed Limitation, Closely Populated Localities, and Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (a) The Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936 dated the 1st day of August 1940*;

(b) The Warrants under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 5th day of December 1955† and the 10th day of July 1957‡;

(c) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956§ dated the 17th day of April 1958||;

(d) The Warrant under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956§ dated the 17th day of June 1959¶;

which relate to roads adjacent to Wanganui City are hereby revoked.

  1. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitations as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  2. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956§.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Wanganui City—

Brunswick Road (from the north-western boundary of Wanganui City to a point 18 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said road from Weka Street).

Chester Road.

Kaikokopu Road (from the north-western boundary of Wanganui City to Ward Street).

Lincoln Road (from Chester Road to a point 2 chains measured south-easterly generally along Lincoln Road from Cornwall Road).

Surrey Road (from the north-western boundary of Wanganui City to a point 2 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said road from Durham Road).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitotara County adjacent to Wanganui City—

No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) (from the north-western boundary of Wanganui City to a point 10 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said State highway from Virginia Road).

Fox Road, (from Oxford Road to a point 9 chains measured north-westerly generally along Fox Road from Oxford Road).

Lincoln Road (from Oxford Road to a point 2 chains measured south-easterly generally along Lincoln Road from Cornwall Road).

Oxford Road (from Fox Road to Lincoln Road).

SITUATED within Wanganui County near Wanganui City—

No. 2 Line (from the eastern boundary of Wanganui City to a point 8 chains measured easterly generally along the said Line from the said boundary).

Wikitoria Road (from the Wanganui Metropolitan Motorway to a point 56 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the said motorway).

SITUATED within Waitotara County near Wanganui City—

No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) (from a point 10 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said State highway from Virginia Road to a point 44 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said State highway from the said road).

Virginia Road (from the No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) to the north-western boundary of Wanganui City).

Declaring Land Taken, Subject to Building-line Restrictions, for Railway Purposes in the Borough of Taumarunui

———

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928 and the Government Railways Act 1949, the Minister of Railways hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for railway purposes, subject as to the land firstly described to the building-line restriction created by special order 124337 and, subject as to the land secondly described to the building-line restriction contained in Order in Council 122234, Taranaki Land Registry. This declaration shall take effect from and after the 22nd day of April 1963.

ALL those pieces of land situated in the Borough of Taumarunui, described as follows:
