Limited Speed Zone Declared

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport
hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act
    1949 dated the 17th day of September 1952* which relates to
    that portion of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff),
    formerly known as the Timaru-Dunedin State Highway No. 59,
    and that portion of the Oamaru-Ngapara Road, formerly known
    as the Waiareka-Duntroon Main Highway No. 123, in Waitaki
    County is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are
    hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the
    purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby
    declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the
    Traffic Regulations 1956†.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitaki County adjacent to Oamaru
Borough—

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the western
boundary of Oamaru Borough to a point 2 chains measured
westerly generally along the said State highway from the
Oamaru-Ngapara road).

Oamaru-Ngapara road (from the No. 1 State Highway
(Awanui-Bluff) to a point 2 chains measured north-westerly
generally along the said road from the said State highway).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitaki County adjacent to Oamaru
Borough—

Oamaru-Ngapara road (from a point 2 chains measured
north-westerly generally along the said road from the No. 1
State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 6 chains measured
north-westerly generally along the said road from Kelks Road).

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the
Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the
provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations
so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors
shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in
lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940 to the persons described in column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy
trade motor in the course of their employment for the em-
ployers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall
not authorise them, while they are under the age of 18 years,
to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Road Excluded from Speed Limitation

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949 the Minister of Transport
hereby gives notice as follows:

That the road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby
excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36
of the Transport Act 1949.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Porirua Borough—
Kenepuru Drive (from the southern boundary of Porirua
Borough to a point 12 chains measured southerly generally
along the said drive from the main entrance to the Porirua
Mental Hospital).
