BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Bay of Islands Electric Power Board Renewal Loan (No. 3)
1963, £40,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, the Local
Authorities Loans Act 1956 and amendments and regulations
made thereunder respectively, and all other powers it enabling,
the Bay of Islands Electric Power Board resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing for repayment of the
principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £40,000
authorised to be raised by the Bay of Islands Electric Power
Board under the above-mentioned enactments in order to provide
moneys for repayment at maturity of the balance of
£60,000 of the Bay of Islands Electric Power Board Reticulation
Extension Loan (No. 8) 1952, £120,000, Second Part
£60,000, the Bay of Islands Electric Power Board hereby
makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of a penny
(¼d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in
the Bay of Islands Electric Power District; such special rate
to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the
said loan and be payable yearly on the 12th day of March
in each and every year, being a period of 15 years, or until
the loan is fully repaid."

NAPIER CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Roading Reconstruction and Improvements Loan 1962,
£50,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Napier
City Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000) authorised
to be raised by the Napier City Council under the abovementioned
Act for the purpose of constructing and reconstructing and laying footpaths, kerbing and channelling, and
carriageways within the city, the said Napier City Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal five eight two
(0·582) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value
(on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property
within the City of Napier; and that such special rate
shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of
such loan and be payable on the 1st day of August in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off." 538

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of thirty-five thousand pounds (£35,000) authorised
to be raised by the Levin Borough Council under the abovementioned
Act for the purpose of improvements to the
borough sewerage system, the said Levin Borough Council
hereby makes a special rate of one hundred and forty-five
four hundredths of a penny (145/400d.) in the pound upon the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property in the Borough of Levin; and that the
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of
April in each and every year during the currency of the
loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the loan is fully
paid off."

AUCKLAND METROPOLITAN DRAINAGE BOARD

SPECIAL ORDER

Loan (No. 30), 1961, £2,600,000: Third Issue, £800,000
"THAT the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board, in exercise
of the powers vested in it by the Auckland Metropolitan
Drainage Act 1960, and in pursuance of the authority conferred
on it under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and
in exercise of all other powers enabling it in that behalf,
doeth hereby resolve by special resolution, intended to operate
as a special order, to borrow the sum of £800,000 (eight
hundred thousand pounds) as a special loan to be portion of
a special loan to be known as Loan No. 30, 1961, £2,600,000,
to be applied for the purpose of meeting costs and expenses
incidental to the construction of the Manukau scheme of
main drainage."

The foregoing special order was made by way of a special
resolution passed at a special meeting of the Board held on
the 5th day of February 1963. It was publicly notified in the
Auckland Star and the New Zealand Herald on the 16th and
23rd days of February 1963, and confirmed at the ordinary
meeting of the Board held on the 6th day of March 1963.

The common seal of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage
Board was hereto affixed this 6th day of March 1963.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL

SPECIAL RATE

Taumaihi Street Loan 1961

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of three thousand five hundred and twenty-one pounds
(£3,521) authorised to be raised by the Rangitikei County
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the upgrading of
Taumaihi Street, Bulls, the said Rangitikei County Council
hereby makes a special rate of decimal point six six nine
two two pence (0·66922d.) in the pound upon the rateable
value of the Bulls Town Riding; and that the special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the
loan and be payable yearly on the 18th day of August in
each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a
period of 15 years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Rangitikei County Council held on the 14th day of March
1963.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE is hereby given that the Christchurch City Council
proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928,
to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for street.
A plan showing the land to be taken is available for public
inspection at the offices of the Christchurch City Council,
Manchester Street, Christchurch. Any persons having any
well-grounded objections to the proposed taking should lodge
their objections in writing at the said office of the Christchurch
City Council within 40 days of the 30th day of March 1963,
being the date of the first publication of this notice.

RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE

PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby
give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of
Manukau, taken on the 23rd day of March 1963, on the proposal
that the system of rating in the said county be on the
unimproved value:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .... 4,292
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1,719
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
