Boundaries of County of Masterton and Borough of Masterton Altered

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 4th day of March 1963.
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:
ORDER
-
That on and from the 1st day of April 1963 the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Masterton and included in the Borough of Masterton.

That the alteration of the boundaries of the said county and the said borough herein before made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Masterton, containing 35 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 5623, at its intersection with the northern boundary of Section 73, Masterton Small Farm Settlement, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Masterton as described in Gazette 1951, page 235, and proceeding north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 1 to the south-western corner of Lot 2, D.P. 11197; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that lot and its production to the south-eastern side of Gordon Street; thence south-westerly generally along that side to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 15154; thence south-easterly along that boundary for a distance of 300 links; thence south-westerly along a right line parallel to and 300 links distant from the said south-eastern side of Gordon Street to and north-westerly along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 1 to the north-eastern corner of Lot 1, D.P. 15594; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, D.P. 15594, and their productions, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, D.P. 15594, and their production, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 17, D.P. 15594 (General Public Reserve), and its production, to the northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 16228; thence easterly along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of that lot; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, and 18, D.P. 16228, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary, to the southern side of Te Ore Ore Road; thence westerly generally along that side to and southerly and south-westerly along the eastern and south-eastern sides of Colombo Road to the left bank of the Waipoua River; thence north-westerly along that bank to its intersection with the north-western side of Colombo Road, being a point on the aforesaid boundary of the Borough of Masterton; thence north-easterly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a burial ground for the common use and benefit of the Ngati-Maru tribe.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Surgeon Commander E. G. McQueen, M.B., B.S. (SYDNEY), M.R.C.P., F.R.A.C.P., RNZNVR (Dunedin),
as Honorary Physician on his staff, vice Surgeon Captain J. MacDonald, RNZN.
