Land Proclaimed as Road, Road Closed, and Land Taken in Block II, Oroua Survey District, Oroua County

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and also hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto; and I also hereby take the land described in the Third Schedule hereto for the purposes of subsection (6) of the said section 29.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 13th day of February 1963

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of an historical burial ground or wahitapu for the Ngapuhi people.

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Boundaries of County of Taupo and County of Hawke’s Bay Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 13th day of February 1963

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. That on and from the 1st day of April 1963 the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Taupo and included in the County of Hawke’s Bay.
  2. That the alteration of the boundaries of the said counties hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District containing approximately 188 square miles and bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ngaruroro River at the intersection with a right line between Trig. Stations 26 (Tauwhaketewhango) in Block XII, Mangamaire Survey District, and 65A in Block XXI, Kaweka Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly up the middle of that river to the southern boundary of the Auckland Land District; thence north-easterly along that boundary to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Tapapa No. 3 Block; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and easterly along the southern boundary of the aforesaid Tapapa No. 3 Block and its production to the middle of the Mohaka River; thence northerly up the middle of that river to the southern boundary of the Auckland Land District; thence easterly along that boundary and northerly along the eastern boundary of the aforesaid Auckland Land District to its intersection with the southern boundary of Block IX, Tarawera Survey District; thence due east along that boundary and approximately 10 chains along the southern boundary of Block X, Tarawera Survey District, to its intersection with a tributary of the Toropapa Stream; thence north-easterly down that tributary to the south-western boundary of Tarawera No. 10A Block; thence north-westerly, north-easterly, and south-easterly along the south-western, north-western, and north-eastern boundaries of Tarawera No. 10A Block aforesaid, including the crossing of Omarowa Road line, and again south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Tarawera No. 8 Block to its intersection with Kowaro Road line; thence north-easterly
