Officers Authorised to Attest the Signatures of Maoris to Instruments of Alienation and to Instruments Under the Chattels Transfer Act 1924
BERNARD FERGUSSON, Governor-General
PURSUANT to sections 222 and 464 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby notify and declare that:
Daniel Aterea Whata, Welfare Officer, Taupo;
Hingaia Elizabeth Jorgensen, Welfare Officer, Taupo;
Joseph Murray, Welfare Officer, Kaitaia;
Rangitahi Hakaraia, Welfare Officer, Taumarunui; and
Nigel Lockhart Watson, Field Supervisor, Taumarunui,
being officers in the service of the Crown employed by the Department of Maori Affairs in the positions set out opposite their names, are authorised to attest, in accordance with the provisions of the said sections 222 and 464, the signatures of Maoris to instruments of alienation of Maori land and to instruments by way of security within the meaning of the Chattels Transfer Act 1924.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 5th day of December 1962.

Dismissal
Flying Officer Norman Claude (818322) was sentenced by General Court Martial to be dismissed from the Service, with effect from 28 January 1963.

James Keith Ward (130909) is granted a commission in the Administrative and Supply Branch (Special Duties Division), Territorial Air Force, for a period ending 13 January 1968 to be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. He is appointed in the rank of Flight Lieutenant (temporary Squadron Leader) with seniority and effect from 14 January 1963.
Norman Ernest Otto Lilley, D.F.C. (134241), is granted a commission in the Administrative and Supply Branch (Special Duties Division), Territorial Air Force, for a period ending 28 January 1968, to be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. He is appointed in the rank of Flight Lieutenant with seniority from 12 October 1948, with effect from 29 January 1963.
Extension of Commission
Squadron Leader (temp.) William Stuart Norman (130393) is granted an extension of his commission until 31 January 1963.

Resignation
Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Desmond Clive Hogan resigns his commission, with effect from 1 February 1963.
