Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block XXXI, Town of Palmerston, for Public Buildings of the General Government

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for public buildings of the General Government; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Palmerston and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send the writing, with 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

All that piece of land containing 36 perches situated in Block XXXI, Town of Palmerston, being Section 2. All certificate of title, Volume 219, folio 188; as the same is delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 6846 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Assent to Agreement for Grant of Easement in Favour of Maurice James Stewart Richards, of Awanui, Farmer, Over Land in Block X, Rangaunu Survey District, Taken for Broadcasting Purposes (Transmitting Station)

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 29th day of September 1961, and published in the Gazette, 5 October 1961, Volume III, page 1517, an area of land containing 12 acres 3 roods 39.6 perches situated in Block X, Rangaunu Survey District, Auckland R.D., and being part Lot 4; D.P. 43276, being part Maxwell's Grant, was taken for broadcasting purposes (transmitting station);

And whereas at the date such Proclamation took effect Maurice James Stewart Richards, of Awanui, farmer, was entitled to compensation in respect of his interest in the said land;

And whereas the Minister of Works and the said Maurice James Stewart Richards have agreed that the artesian bore plant and equipment on the said land is to remain and that the Crown shall have the right to take pipe and use water from such bore;

And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant, and the said Maurice James Stewart Richards has agreed to accept, in part satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid, the right to take pipe and use water from such bore;

Now, therefore, the Minister of Works doth hereby give notice, pursuant to section 97 of the Public Works Act 1928, that he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.
