Reserve Bank of New Zealand
PURSUANT to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Governor of the Reserve Bank, acting with the authority of the Minister of Finance hereby gives notice that as from 20 December 1962, the balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each other bank for the time being carrying on business in New Zealand in accordance with the said section 45 shall be such that when added to that bank’s holding of Reserve Bank notes it shall be equal to not less than 37 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 10 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933.
Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand.
For the purpose of this calculation a bank’s holding of Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1955.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Hokianga Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 15 September 1930 and published in the Gazette, 25 September 1930, Volume III, page 2850.

Land Surveyors’ Examination, February 1963—Australia and New Zealand
It is hereby notified for general information that the Survey Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors’ Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for registration as surveyors, commencing at 9 a.m. on Monday, 11 February 1963.
Candidates are notified that their applications, on the proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later than Wednesday, 10 January 1963, and that the examination fee must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom application forms and other particulars may be obtained.
Candidates presenting themselves for examination in any written subject or subjects may present themselves for examination at any Chief Surveyor’s Office, or at the office of the District Surveyor at Rotorua or Whangarei.
Candidates for the oral and practical portion of the examination must sit in Wellington. Plans for this portion of the examination, the certificate, and other evidence required by regulation No. 24 of the Survey Examination Regulations 1962, must be forwarded not later than 11 March 1963.
The fees for examination are as follows:
