UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Water Supply Loan (No. 3) 1962, £50,000
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £50,000 authorised to be raised by the
Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of remedying the inadequacy and deterioration
in sections of the present water reticulation system the said
Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of two hundred and fifteen thousandths of a
penny in the pound (0·215d. in the £) on the rateable value
(on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property
in the Borough of Upper Hutt, and that such special rate
shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of
such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April
in each and every year until the loan is fully repaid."
The foregoing resolution was passed at the ordinary meeting
of the Upper Hutt Borough Council held in the Council
Chambers, Main Road, Upper Hutt, on Tuesday, the 27th day
of November 1962.

GISBORNE CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES
Waterworks Pipeline Loan of £220,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Gisborne City Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of £220,000 authorised to be raised by the Gisborne City
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
replacing the water pipeline between Waingake and the Te
Arai Intake, purchasing land, and constructing a new settling
tank and associated works, the said Gisborne City Council
hereby makes a special rate of 0·744d. in the pound upon the
unimproved value of all rateable property within the city of
Gisborne; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly
on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the
currency of the loan, being a period of 35 years, or until the
loan is fully paid off."
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Gisborne City Council held on 27 November 1962.

RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Wellsford Water Supply Loan (No. 3) 1962, £5,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Rodney County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £5,000 authorised to be raised by the Rodney County
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
meeting additional costs incurred in the Wellsford Water
Supply Scheme, the said Rodney County Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of 0·394 pence in the pound upon
the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Wells-
ford Riding of the County of Rodney, which said Riding has
been duly constituted a water supply area in terms of section
266 of the Counties Act 1956; and that such special rate shall
be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the
loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each
and every year during the currency of the loan being a period
of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

KAITAIA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Kaitaia Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges
on the Municipal Office Supplementary Loan 1961, £950,
authorised to be raised by the Council for the purpose of
completing the erection of the Municipal Offices authorised
under the Municipal Office and Milk Pasteurisation Loan
1960, £12,000, the Council hereby makes a special rate of
forty-five thousandths of one penny (0·045d.) in the pound
upon the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis
of unimproved value) in the Borough of Kaitaia; and that
the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate and be
payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during
the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until
the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at
a duly constituted meeting of the Kaitaia Borough Council
held on the 28th day of November 1962.

TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Rural Housing Loan 1962, £15,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Tara-
naki County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £15,000 authorised to be raised by the Taranaki
County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the making
of advances to farmers in terms of the Rural Housing Act
1939, the said Taranaki County Council hereby makes a
special rate of decimal nought eight three two two four pence
(0·083224d.) in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value
of all rateable property comprising the whole of the County
of Taranaki; and that the special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable
yearly on the 4th day of August in each and every year
during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years,
or until the loan is fully paid off."

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Counties Act 1956, the Counties Amend-
ment Act 1961, and the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Manukau County Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts,
to execute a certain public work, namely, the widening and
formation of a public road known as the Orere Road, and for
the purposes of such public work the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby
further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken
as aforesaid is deposited at the Clevedon Post Office and is
open for inspection without fee by all persons during all
reasonable hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
works or by the taking of the said land who have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said land must state their objections
in writing and send the same, within 40 days from the first
publication of this notice, to the County Clerk of the Manukau
County Council at the office of the said Council on the corner
of Shortland and Princes Streets, Auckland.
SCHEDULE
THAT piece of land situated in the County of Manukau and in
Block II, Orere Survey District, containing three decimal five
perches (3·5 perches), more or less, being part of the Whare-
kawa 4B 2A 1B Block, being part of the land comprised and
described in certificate of title, Volume 294, folio 61, Auck-
land Registry, as the said piece of land is shown coloured
sepia on Survey Office Plan No. 42429.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL
PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of the
Borough of Ashburton taken on the 17th day of November
1962, on the proposal of the above-named local authority to
raise a loan of £115,000, to be known as the Ashburton
Borough Council Gravity Water Supply Loan, for the purpose
of installing a gravity water supply to the borough, resulted
as follows:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was ... 1,087
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 645
The number of informal votes was 3
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Act 1953, I hereby give notice that the number of votes
received by each candidate for the office of Matakaoa County
Representative on the Poverty Bay Catchment Board, at a
poll taken on the 17th day of November 1962, is as follows:

And I hereby declare the said Leonard Tuku Walker to be
duly elected to such office.
