Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the
Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the
provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations
so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors
shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in
lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940 to the persons described in column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy
trade motor in the course of their employment for the em-
ployers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall
not authorise them, while they are under the age of 18 years,
to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Closely Populated Locality Revoked and Limited Speed Zones
Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Trans-
port hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That so much of the Warrant under section 36 of the
    Transport Act 1949, dated the 14th day of November 1955,*
    which relates to that portion of the No. 8 State Highway
    (Timaru-Milton) formerly known as the Timaru-Cromwell via
    Lindis State Highway No. 60, at Pleasant Point in Levels
    County is hereby revoked.

  2. The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby
    declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes
    of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are
    hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes
    of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

SITUATED within Levels County at Pleasant Point—

No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton) (from a point 4
chains measured south-easterly generally along the said high-
way from Munro Street to a point 3 chains measured westerly
generally along the No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton)

    1949, dated the 24th day of July 1958,* which relates to
    Wainuiomata in Hutt County is hereby revoked.

  2. The area specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby
    declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes
    of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SITUATED within Hutt County at Wainuiomata—

All that area at Wainuiomata bounded by a line commencing
at the junction of the north-western side of Puriri Street with
the south-western side of Wainuiomata Road; thence north-
easterly generally across Wainuiomata Road at right angles
to its south-western side to its north-eastern side; thence
north-easterly generally along a right line to a point on the
western side of Fitzherbert Road 48 chains measured north-
easterly generally along the said road from Norfolk Street;
thence easterly generally across Fitzherbert Road at right
angles to its western side to its eastern side; thence south-
easterly generally along a right line to the eastern end of
Ruthven Road; thence south-easterly generally along a right
line to the northern end of Hair Street; thence southerly
generally along a right line to a point in the middle of Moores
Valley Road 16 chains measured easterly generally along the
said road from Hair Street and the production of that right
line to the northern side of Hine Road; thence easterly gener-
ally along that roadside to the eastern end of Hine Road;
thence south-westerly generally along a right line to the
southern end of Sunny Grove; thence south-westerly generally
along a right line to a point on the eastern side of Coast Road
48 chains measured southerly generally along the said road
from Hine Road; thence westerly generally across Coast Road
at right angles to its eastern side to its western side; thence
north-westerly generally along a right line to the south-
western end of Kowhai Street; thence northerly generally
along a right line to the south-western end of Puriri Street;
thence along the north-western side of Puriri Street to the
point of commencement; the boundary of the whole area being
further indicated in red on the plan TT. 1799 deposited in the
Head Office of the Transport Department in Wellington.
