NOTICE OF MAKING OF SPECIAL RATE
——
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Manurewa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £1,000 authorised to be raised by Manurewa Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act and for the purpose of completing the purpose for which the Weymouth Road Overbridge Loan 1961, £20,000, was sanctioned, the said Manurewa Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought one six nine pence (·0169d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Manurewa, comprising the whole of the Borough of Manurewa; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of this loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

DECLARATION OF RESULT OF LOAN POLL

Staff Housing Loan 1962, £3,500

PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, I hereby declare the result of the poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Foxton, taken on the 9th day of November 1962, on the proposal of the Foxton Borough Council to borrow the sum of three thousand five hundred pounds (£3,500) for the purpose of purchasing a house for use as a staff dwelling:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was ..... 247
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 126
The number of informal votes was ..... ..... ..... 11

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR PURPOSE OF SOIL CONSERVATION AND RIVER CONTROL
——

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments and in the matter of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 and its amendments.

Notice is hereby given that the Manawatu Catchment Board intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, that parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of soil conservation and river control. The plan of the said land is deposited at the public office of the Manawatu Catchment Board, 541 Ruahine Street, Palmerston North, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land and to send such writing, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary, Manawatu Catchment Board, 541 Ruahine Street, Palmerston North.

SCHEDULE

SEVENTY acres, more or less, being part of Lot 9, Aorangi No. 3H of Block IV, Mount Robinson Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 77, folio 4 (Wellington Registry).

Public Notification of the Maraenui-Onekawa South and the City-Westshore Sections of the Napier District Scheme

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to a resolution of the Napier City Council made on the 27th day of August 1962, the Maraenui-Onekawa South and the City-Westshore sections of the Napier District Scheme have been recommended for approval under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953. The scheme relates to the areas known locally as Westshore, Port Ahuriri, Hill area, City area, Napier South, Te Awa, Maraenui, and the southern portion of Onekawa. The scheme has been deposited in the Town Clerk’s Office, the Napier Public Library, and the City Engineer’s Office in accordance with section 22 (1) of that Act and is there open for inspection, without fee, to all persons interested therein at any time when the above places are open to the public.

Objections to the above sections of the district scheme or any part thereof shall be in writing in form E prescribed in the First Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, and shall be lodged at the Town Clerk’s Office of the Council at any time not later than 4 p.m. on the 15th day of December 1962. At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection, and any person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he notifies the Town Clerk in writing within the period of which public notice will be given.

Hearing of Objections to Matamata County District Scheme (Tokoroa Section—Second Five-yearly Review)

THE Matamata County Council hereby gives notice that the hearing of objections to the Matamata County District Scheme (Tokoroa Section—Second Five-yearly Review) will commence at the Council Chambers, Rose Street, Tirau, at 1.15 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 13th day of December 1962, and will continue as there arranged from time to time and place to place until all objections and witnesses have been heard. All persons who wish to be heard in support of or opposition to any objection shall notify the Council accordingly at least three days before that date. The objections are available for inspection and copying at the office of the Council.

The following is a summary of the subject matters of objections received by the Council:

Requirements of the Minister of Works

  1. The inclusion of an area in N.Z. Forest Products Ltd., Butler Block, as “Proposed Primary School”.
  2. The deletion of an area shown as “Proposed Primary School” in N.Z. Forest Products Ltd., Butler Block.

NOTE—The effect of 1 and 2 above is to change the siting of the proposed school.

  1. The area known as the Government Block between the State highway and Mannering Street to be shown on the district planning map as “Reserve for Government Purposes”.
  2. The property in Bridge Street known as “Skateways” be shown on the district planning map as “Reserve for Government Purposes (Defence)”.
  3. The segregation strip along the northern side of Maraetai Road be deleted at the two existing points of access to the Tokoroa High School and caretaker’s residence respectively.

Departure from Operative District Scheme

PUBLIC notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 and its amendments, and of the regulations made thereunder:

“That the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board, by order dated the 25th day of October 1962, gave consent to a departure from the operative district scheme of the City of Nelson to the extent indicated hereunder.

By permitting the Education Board of the District of Nelson to erect a small prefabricated building on the land described in the Schedule hereto and to install therein electrically driven machinery consisting of grinders and other machinery suitable for processing stone and other minerals into souvenirs and to use the said machinery for the purpose of manufacturing such souvenirs.

SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land containing 2 roods, more or less, being part Section 601 of the City of Nelson, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 10, folio 712 (Nelson Registry).
