TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953


Hearing of Objections to Change of City of Auckland District Scheme

Second series of changes advertised from 12 March until 24 April 1962.

THE Auckland City Council hereby gives notice that the hearing of an objection to a change of the district scheme will commence at the Town Hall at 10 a.m. on Monday, the 3rd day of December 1962, and will continue as there arranged from time to time and place to place until the objector and witnesses have been heard. All persons who wish to be heard in support or opposition to the objection shall notify the Council accordingly at least three days before that date.

The following is a summary of the subject matter of the objection received by Council:

Objection 48. The Auckland Harbour Board objects to the alignment shown by way of diagram on the plan headed “Street Development Proposals, Strand Bridge Interchange, Appendix F” and it objects to the deletion of alignment of the proposed reclamation from the Auckland Harbour for street widening on Harbour Board land immediately to the north of the Strand Bridge and the substitution of the alignment shown by way of diagram on the plan headed “Strand Development Proposals: Strand Bridge Interchange, Appendix F”.

CITY OF NEW PLYMOUTH


CENTRAL AREA DISTRICT PLANNING SCHEME


NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to regulation 32 (8) of the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, that, by decision dated the 27th day of August 1962, the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board consented to the application of Angus McEwen Ltd. for a departure under section 35 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 from the above district scheme for its premises at 40 Devon Street East, New Plymouth.

The substance and effect of the consent is to permit the erection of a new building covering 100 per cent of the site upon the ground floor only of such building in lieu of the maximum coverage restriction of 85 per cent provided by the said scheme, subject to the conditions that:

(a) The rear wall of the proposed ground floor addition shall be so constructed that it will to the satisfaction of the Council’s engineer serve as an adequate retaining wall in respect of that part of the proposed service lane which adjoins the applicant’s property.

(b) The roof of the proposed ground floor addition shall be so constructed that it will, to the satisfaction of the Council’s engineer, comply with all such requirements as the Council may require to ensure that it serve as an adequate unloading bay and a parking area for two motor vehicles.

The full description of the land is shown in the said application which, together with the plans mentioned therein, may be inspected, without fee, at any time during office hours at the Town Clerk’s Office, Liardet Street, New Plymouth.

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE


Roading Loan 1962, £300,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Manukau County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £300,000 authorised to be raised by the Manukau County Council under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 for the purpose of carrying out road improvement works within the county, the said Manukau County Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal one six eight pence (0·168d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property of the County of Manukau; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I, Ronald Wood, County Clerk of the Manukau County Council, hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Manukau County Council on the 6th day of September 1962.

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL


RESOLUTION TO MAKE SPECIAL RATE


Stokes Valley Development Loan No. 4, 1962, £50,000

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of acquiring land, constructing streets, and developing land for housing at Stokes Valley, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and two hundred and twenty-two thousandths of a penny (1·222d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be incorporated and added to the consolidated special rate made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of six years, or until such time as the loan is paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on 2 August 1962.

HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC POWER AND GAS BOARD


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE


PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £100,000 authorised to be raised by the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of further reticulating the Board’s district, the said Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board hereby makes a special rate of ninety-three thousandths (0·093) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Hutt Valley Electric Power District comprising the Boroughs of Eastbourne, Petone, Porirua, Upper Hutt, and Tawa; the City of Lower Hutt; part of the City of Wellington; part of the Hutt County; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
