ADVERTISEMENT OF CANCELLING

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 18th day of September 1962, cancelled the registry of St. Patrick’s Branch, No. 643, a branch of the New Zealand District of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit Society (Register No. 198/76), held at Dunedin, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to private Bills and in the matter of a private Bill intituled “An Act to amend the Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879 to confer upon the Church Property Trustees certain powers, to provide for other incidental matters, and to facilitate the management and administration of certain real and personal property vested in the Church Property Trustees”.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Church Property Trustees, a body corporate constituted under and by virtue of certain Ordinances of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the late Province of Canterbury intituled respectively “The Church Property Trust Ordinance Session II, No. 3” and “The Church Property Trust Amendment Ordinance 1867”, intends to present a petition to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled and during this present session thereof for leave to introduce the above-mentioned Bill, the objects of which are to amend the Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879 so as to provide that the Church Property Trustees may, as trustee of the General Trust Estate, transfer or assign by way of mortgage to itself as trustee of the Amalgamated Mortgages and Securities Investment Fund and to enter into covenants and agreements in respect of such transactions with itself and to authorise the registration of such transactions under the Land Transfer Act 1952 and, further, to empower the Church Property Trustees to advance moneys by way of loan upon certain leasehold properties and, further, to empower the Church Property Trustees to accept by way of gift, legacy, or bequest and to acquire by way of purchase shares, stocks, bonds, convertible notes, debentures, or other securities of certain companies or of building societies established in New Zealand and, further, to empower the Church Property Trustees with certain limitations to employ capital of the Dean and Chapter Estate of which they are trustee for certain of the purposes relating to the Dean and Chapter Estate set out in the Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879 and, further, to direct that the costs, charges, and expenses of and incidental to the preparation and completion of the Bill shall be paid out of the income of the General Trust Estate.

The promoter of the Bill is the said the Church Property Trustees and the address to which communications or notices to the promoter may be sent and at which a copy of the Bill may be inspected is at the offices of Elmo Connal Champion, solicitor for the Church Property Trustees, 183 Manchester Street, Christchurch.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

AN ACT TO CONFER POWERS UPON EAST COAST PERMANENT TRUSTEES LTD.

NOTICE is hereby given that East Coast Permanent Trustees Ltd. (hereinafter called “the company”) intends to apply for leave to bring into the House of Representatives, during the present session of Parliament, a Private Bill the short title of which is the East Coast Permanent Trustees Ltd. Act 1962.

The objects of the proposed Bill are to confer powers upon the company in order to enable the company to act as executor of the will of any deceased person and as administrator with or without the will annexed of the estate of any deceased person; and further to enable the company more effectively to carry on the trust and agency business which it is authorised to carry on under its memorandum of association; and further to define the powers of the company and to regulate its practice and procedure in relation to obtaining probate of wills and letters of administration of the estates of deceased persons and in acting in any other fiduciary capacity.

The Bill is promoted by the company, whose address to which communications or notices may be sent is at the offices of Messrs Bannister and von Dadelszen, Solicitors, 123 Queen Street East, Hastings.

A copy of the proposed Bill may be inspected at the above-mentioned address.
