PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John,
Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand,
hereby proclaim and declare that the leasehold estate in the
land described in the Schedule hereto, held from the Board
of the Wellington Methodist Charitable and Educational
Endowments, by William Henry Pitt, of Wellington, electrical
engineer, under and by virtue of memorandum of lease No.
443880, Wellington Land Registry, is hereby taken for a
university; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall
take effect on and after the 17th day of September 1962.
