THE following grant has been approved by the Minister of Finance in terms of the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948:

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to private Bills and in the matter of a private Bill intituled “An Act to amend the Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879 to confer upon the Church Property Trustees certain powers, to provide for other incidental matters, and to facilitate the management and administration of certain real and personal property vested in the Church Property Trustees”.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Church Property Trustees, a body corporate constituted under and by virtue of certain Ordinances of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the late Province of Canterbury intituled respectively “The Church Property Trust Ordinance Session II, No. 3” and “The Church Property Trust Amendment Ordinance 1867”, intends to present a petition to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled and during this present session thereof for leave to introduce the above-mentioned Bill, the objects of which are to amend the Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879 so as to provide that the Church Property Trustees may, as trustee of the General Trust Estate, transfer or assign by way of mortgage to itself as trustee of the Amalgamated Mortgages and Securities Investment Fund and to enter into covenants and agreements in respect of such transactions with itself and to authorise the registration of such transactions under the Land Transfer Act 1952 and, further, to empower the Church Property Trustees to advance moneys by way of loan upon certain leasehold properties and, further, to empower the Church Property Trustees to accept by way of gift, legacy, or bequest and to acquire by way of purchase shares, stocks, bonds, convertible notes, debentures, or other securities of certain companies or of building societies established in New Zealand and, further, to empower the Church Property Trustees with certain limitations to employ capital of the Dean and Chapter Estate of which they are trustee for certain of the purposes relating to the Dean and Chapter Estate set out in the Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879 and, further, to direct that the costs, charges, and expenses of and incidental to the preparation and completion of the Bill shall be paid out of the income of the General Trust Estate.

The promoter of the Bill is the said the Church Property Trustees and the address to which communications or notices to the promoter may be sent and at which a copy of the Bill may be inspected is at the offices of Elmo Connal Champion, solicitor for the Church Property Trustees, 183 Manchester Street, Christchurch.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding publication.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 9d. per line for the first insertion and 6d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertions.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.

STATUTORY REGULATIONS

Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of general legislative force are no longer published in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements:

(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing) subscription £2 per calendar year in advance.

(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, 35s. per volume. (Volumes for years 1936–37 and 1939–42 are out of print.)

(3) Separate regulations as issued.
