Cancellation of the Vesting in the Southland County Council
and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister
of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Council-
lors, and Inhabitants of the County of Southland and revokes
the reservation for gravel-pit purposes over the land described
in the Schedule hereto.

SECTION 318, Forest Hill Hundred: Area, 4 acres 1 rood

Fixing Date on Which Certain Returns Under the Fire Services
Act 1949 are to be Furnished

PURSUANT to section 52 of the Fire Services Act 1949, it is
hereby notified that the returns required by that section (as
amended by the Fire Services Amendment Acts 1953 and
1956), showing the amount of premiums received by or due
to fire insurance companies during the year ended 31 Decem-
ber 1961, shall be transmitted to the Fire Service Council
in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the
28th day of February 1962.

Boundaries of Borough of Tapanui, County of Tuapeka, and
Tapanui Riding of that County Defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set
out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of
Tapanui, the County of Tuapeka, and the Tapanui Riding
of the County of Tuapeka, the previous boundaries having
been altered by Order in Council made on the 20th day of
February 1961 and published in Gazette, 23 February 1961,
No. 14, page 322.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF TAPANUI

All that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line
commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 44, Block
XIII, Glenkenich Survey District, and proceeding northerly
along the western boundary of that section and its production
to a line parallel to and distant 250 links north-eastward
from the north-eastern side of Tapanui Railway Station Road;
then e south-easterly along that line to the northernmost
corner of Lot 23, D.P. 268; then e south-easterly along the
north-eastern boundaries of Lots 23 to 6 inclusive, D.P. 268,
to a line parallel to and distant 250 links westward from the
western side of Kent Street; then e northerly along that line
to a line parallel to and distant 250 links northward from the
northern side of Sussex Street; then e easterly along that line
to the north-eastern corner of Lot 1, Block I, D.P. 269; then
easterly along a right line to the north-western corner of Lot
2, Block II, D.P. 269; then e easterly along the northern
boundary of that lot and its production to the north-western
side of Cameron Road; then e north-easterly along a right line
to the intersection of the south-eastern side of Cameron Road
with a line parallel to and distant 250 links northward from
the northern side of Cemetery Road; then e easterly along that
line to a point in line with the eastern boundary of part Lot
14, D.P. 2034; then e southerly to and along the eastern
boundary of that lot, and the eastern boundary of part

then n northerly to and along that boundary to the eastern-
most corner of part Section 25, Block XIII, Glenkenich Survey
District; then n north-westerly along the north-eastern bound-
ary of that part section to its intersection with a line
parallel to and distant 250 links south-eastward from the
south-eastern side of an unnamed road passing through part
Sections 25 and 26, Block XIII aforesaid; then s south-
westerly along that line to the north-eastern boundary of
Section 27, Block XIII aforesaid; then n north-westerly along
that boundary and its production to the south-eastern bound-
ary of Section 44, Block XIII aforesaid; then s south-westerly
along that boundary to the point of commencement.

bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station "F" at the
south-western corner of Block XII, Waipori Survey District,
and proceeding westerly along the northern boundary of
Block XII, Maungatua Survey District, and southerly along
the western boundary of that block and Blocks XIII and
XV, Maungatua Survey District, and the production of the
western boundary of that Block XV to the middle of the
Waipori River; thence generally south-easterly down the
middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern
boundary of Block X, Waipori Survey District; thence south-
westerly to and along that boundary to the northern side of
an undefined road passing through Run 51A; thence generally
westerly and north-westerly along the northern and north-
eastern sides of that road to a point on the south-western
boundary of Run 51A bearing 100° 01', distant 193· 5 links
south-east from Trig. Station "W", Waitahuna Hill; thence
north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and
north-western boundaries of Section 5, Block IX, Waipori
Survey District, to the westernmost corner of that Section 5;
thence generally southerly and south-westerly along the
eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Section 1, Block IX,
aforesaid, to the northern boundary of Section 1, Block IX,
Table Hill Survey District; thence generally south-westerly
along the north-western side of a road intersecting that Sec-
tion 1, Section 21, Block VII, Tuapeka East Survey District,
again Section 1, Block IX, Table Hill Survey District, and
Section 16, Block XI, Table Hill Survey District, to the
western boundary of that Section 16; thence generally
southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 11, Block
XI aforesaid, to its southernmost corner; thence due south
along a right line for a distance of 321· 5 links to the eastern
boundary of Section 4, Block XI aforesaid; thence south-
westerly along the south-eastern side of a road intersecting
that Section 4 to the north-western corner of Section 11, Block
VII, Table Hill Survey District; thence due west along a right
line to the easternmost corner of Section 23, Block VII
aforesaid; thence generally southerly along the eastern bound-
ary of that Section 23 and generally south-westerly along
the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 22 and 27, Block VII
aforesaid, and the production of the south-western boundary
of that Section 27 to the eastern boundary of Section 28,

south-eastern boundaries of Block IV, Waitahuna East Survey
District, to the southernmost corner of that Block IV; thence
north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Blocks
IV and VI, Waitahuna East Survey District, and the pro-
duction of the south-western boundary of that Block VI to
the southernmost corner of Section 1, Block VII, Waitahuna
West Survey District; thence north-westerly along the south-
