PURSUANT to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force
Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been
pleased to approve the following appointments, promotions,
extensions of commissions, and date of retirement, and retire-
ment of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

REGULAR AIR FORCE
GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Appointment

Wing Commander Maxwell James Millener, D.F.C. (70042),
to be temporary Group Captain, with effect from 13 June 1962.

Extension of Date of Retirement

The age for retirement of temporary Group Captain Max-
well James Millener, D.F.C. (70042), is extended for the period
13 June 1963 to 31 December 1963.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH
Extension of Commission

Secretarial Division

Flying Officer David Ian Procter, A.C.I.S. (74678), is granted
an extension of his commission until 22 January 1973.

Retirement

Squadron Leader the Rev. Kenneth Schollar, B.A. (75440),
is retired, with effect from 4 June 1962.

Appointment of Officers Authorised to Attest the Signatures
of Maoris
———

PURSUANT to sections 222 and 464 of the Maori Affairs Act
1953, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to appoint:

Julius Arnold Ferris, Housing Officer, Gisborne,
Thomas William Cooper, Welfare Officer, Wairoa,

being officers in the service of the Crown employed by the
Department of Maori Affairs in the positions set out opposite
their names, as persons authorised to attest, in accordance
with the provisions of the said sections 222 and 464, the
signatures of Maoris to instruments of alienation of Maori land
and to instruments by way of security within the meaning
of the Chattels Transfer Act 1924.

Revocation of Appointment to Attest the Signatures of Maoris
———

PURSUANT to section 222 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Governor-General hereby revokes, as from the date of publi-
cation of this notice in the Gazette, the authority to attest the
signatures of Maoris which was given to the officer whose
name and designation is set out in the first and second columns
in the Schedule hereto by a notice in the Gazette as indicated
in the third column of the said Schedule.

Revoking Appointment of and Appointing Licensing Authorities
for Issue of Heavy Traffic Licences
———

PURSUANT to subclause (2) of regulation 10 of the Heavy
Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955,* the Minister of Transport
hereby revokes that part of Warrant dated 2 May 1954† and
Warrant dated 15 March 1962‡ appointing the local authorities
described in column 1 of the First Schedule as the Licensing
Authorities for the purpose of collecting heavy traffic fees
due under the said regulations for the district of the local
authority and for such areas as are described in column 2 of
the First Schedule hereto, and hereby appoints the local
authorities described in column 1 of the Second Schedule
hereto to be the Licensing Authorities for the purpose of
collecting heavy traffic fees due under the said regulations
for the district of the respective local authority and for such
area or other areas as are described in column 2 of the Second
Schedule opposite the respective name of the said local
authority.

Provided that the Commissioner of Transport shall be the
Licensing Authority in the case of all heavy motor vehicles
owned by the Crown as provided by subclause (2) of the
said regulation.
