5 JULY THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE 1091
Riding, Central Riding, Taonui Riding, Fitzherbert East Riding, and Fitzherbert West Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the schedule attached hereto.
(2) The said Kairanga County Council shall consist of eight members who shall be elected as follows:
(a) The electors of the Fitzherbert East Riding, Fitzherbert West Riding, and the Central Riding shall each elect one councillor.
(b) The electors of the Mangaone Riding shall elect two councillors.
(c) The electors of the Taonui Riding shall elect three councillors.
(3) The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the 13th day of October 1962.
SCHEDULE
MANGAONE RIDING
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Kairanga County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Oroua River in line with the middle of Kai Iwi Road in Block I, Kairanga Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the County of Kairanga as described in Gazette, 1962, page 483, and proceeding southerly to and along the middle of that road and south-easterly along the middle of the said Kai Iwi Road and Milson Line to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 9749; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary and the north-western boundaries of Lots 26 and 27, D.P. 5402, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Setters Line; thence south-easterly along the middle line of Setters Line and its production to and along the middle of Setters Line and Armstrong Street to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 7111; thence north-easterly along a right line to the westernmost corner of the said Lot 4; thence south-easterly generally along the generally southern boundary of the Wellington–New Plymouth Railway (Palmerston North Deviation) and the south-western boundary of the North Island Main Trunk Railway and its production to the middle of Tremaine Avenue East; thence north-easterly along the middle of that avenue and Kelvin Grove Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 693; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 2 and 4, D.P. 693, and their production to and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. A/234, to the north-western side of No. 3 National State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth); thence south-westerly along that side to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 20793; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 10732, and their production to the middle of the Manawatu River; thence north-easterly generally up the middle of that river to a point in Block VIII, Kairanga Survey District, in line with the middle line of Orrs Road; thence north-westerly along the production of that middle line of Orrs Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 2157; thence westerly generally to and along that boundary and a right line to and along the north-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 22182, to the south-western boundary of Section 449, Town of Palmerston North; thence north-westerly along that boundary, along a right line across No. 3 National State Highway aforesaid, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot A, D.P. 210, along a right line to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, and 30 of Section 412, Town of Palmerston North, and their production to the middle of Kelvin Grove Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of that road to the middle line of Stony Creek Road; thence north-westerly along that line and its production to and along the north-eastern boundary of the North Island Main Trunk Railway to the middle of the Oroua River; thence south-westerly down the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
CENTRAL RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Kairanga, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Oroua River in the middle of the Longburn-Rongotea Road in Block V, Kairanga Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly along the middle of that road and Waldegrave Road and the production of the middle line of that road to the middle of the Manawatu River; thence north-easterly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle of Maxwells Line; thence north-westerly to and along the middle of Maxwells Line to the middle of No. 56 Provincial State Highway (Palmerston North-Himatangi) (Pioneer Highway); thence north-easterly along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 13 of Section 351, Town of Palmerston North; thence north-westerly generally to and along that boundary, the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 16 of Section 350, Town of Palmerston North, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the south-eastern boundary of the Wellington-New Plymouth Railway (Palmerston North Deviation); thence north-easterly along that boundary to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 7073; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 7073, and north-easterly along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 6 to a line parallel to and distant 250 links south-westward of the south-western side of Gillespies Line; thence north-westerly along that line to the north-western boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 7073; thence north-easterly along that boundary
and its production to the middle of Gillespies Line; thence south-easterly along the middle of Gillespies Line to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 423, Town of Palmerston North; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary and the north-western boundary of Section 424, Town of Palmerston North, to the south-western side of No. 3 National State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) (Rangitikei Line), along a right line to and along the north-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 10583 and Section 555, Town of Palmerston North, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Milson Line; thence north-westerly generally along the middle of that Line and Kai Iwi Road and the production of the middle line of Kai Iwi Road to the middle of the Oroua River; thence south-westerly generally down the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
TAONUI RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Kairanga, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Oroua and Manawatu Rivers in Block IV, Mount Robinson Survey District, and proceeding easterly generally and north-easterly generally up the middle of the Manawatu River to a point in line with the middle of Waldegrave Road; thence north-westerly to and along the middle of Waldegrave Road and the Longburn-Rongotea Road to the middle of the Oroua River; thence south-westerly generally down the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
FITZHERBERT EAST RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Kairanga, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Manawatu River in line with the middle of the public road forming the south-western boundary of Section 198, Town of Fitzherbert, in Block XIV, Kairanga Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly generally to and along the middle of that road, No. 57 Provincial State Highway, Fitzherbert West Road, and Aranui Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 277, Town of Fitzherbert, in Block III, Arawaru Survey District; thence southerly to and along that boundary to the northern boundary of Section 306, Town of Fitzherbert; thence easterly along that boundary and its production to the north-western boundary of Section 4, Block V, Mangahao Survey District; thence north-easterly generally along that boundary and the north-western boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block VI, Mangahao Survey District, to and along the south-western boundaries of Sections 13 and 19, Block XIX, Mangahao Survey District, to and along the eastern side of South Range Road to the Palmerston North-Pahiatua Hill Road, along a right line to and along the eastern side of North Range Road and the road forming the north-western boundaries of Sections 2, 10, and the said Section 2, Block II, Mangahao Survey District, to and along the generally south-western boundary of Subdivision 3 of Section 26, Block II, aforesaid, to and along the eastern side of North Range Road and the southern side of Cross Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 1, Block I, Mangahao Survey District, to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Manawatu River; thence westerly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 406, Town of Fitzherbert, in Block III, Gorge Survey District; thence south-westerly generally to and along the generally north-western boundary of the said Section 406 to the westernmost corner of that section, along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 10, D.P. 2676, along the north-western boundaries of Lots 1 and 12, D.P. 2676, and their production to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 17 and 16, D.P. 2676, along a right line to and along the north-western boundary of Lot 16, D.P. 4945, to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 15, D.P. 4945, along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 13, D.P. 4945, and along the north-western boundary of Lot 14, D.P. 4945, to the middle of a public road forming the south-western boundary of Lot 13, D.P. 4945, aforesaid; thence north-westerly along the middle line of that road and Orrs Road and its production to the middle of the Manawatu River in Block VIII, Kairanga Survey District; thence south-westerly generally down the middle of that river, to and along the production of the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 10732, to and along the right bank of the Manawatu River to the point of commencement.
FITZHERBERT WEST RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Kairanga, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block I, Arawaru Survey District, in line with the south-western boundary of Section 389, Town of Fitzherbert, being also the north-eastern boundary of Tuwhakatupua 1A as shown on M.L. plan 890 and proceeding south-easterly to and along the last-mentioned boundary to Trig. Station Mangawarawara as shown on S.O. Plan 14101, on the eastern boundary of Section 44, Block I, Arawaru Survey District, along a right line to the intersection of the north-western boundary of Section 333, Town of Fitzherbert, with the western side of Scotts Road in Block VI, Arawaru Survey District; thence southerly generally along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the said Section 333 and the generally south-western boundaries of Sections 320, 319, and 318, Town of Fitzherbert, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 318, 317, 316, and 315, Town of Fitzherbert,
