HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL

CONSOLIDATION OF SPECIAL RATES

Special Order

Extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Hawera Borough Council at a meeting of the said Council, held at the Council Chambers, High Street, Hawera, on the 21st day of May 1962—Moved by C. R. Mills.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 (section 108A, as enacted by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1959, section 10), and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Hawera Borough Council, at a meeting of the said Council held at the Council Chambers, High Street, Hawera, on the 21st day of May 1962, hereby resolves as follows:

“‘That, the resolution of the Council passed on the 16th day of April 1962, in the words and figures following—Whereas the Council has heretofore raised certain special loans, and as security for the repayment of the same has made certain special rates all on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Hawera comprising the whole of such borough as defined at the time of raising the said several special loans (being what is commonly referred to as ‘the original area’), particulars of which special loans and special rates are as follows, viz:

“And whereas the Council has heretofore raised certain special loans, and as security for the repayment of the same has made certain special rates all on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Hawera comprising the whole of such borough as defined at the time of raising the said several special loans (being the original area with certain alterations), particulars of which special loans and special rates are as follows, viz:

“And whereas it is expedient that the said special rates be now consolidated in terms of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, section 108A, as enacted by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1959, section 10.

“Now, therefore, the Hawera Borough Council, at a special meeting of the said Council held at the Council Chambers, High Street, Hawera, on the 16th day of April 1962, and in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 (section 108A, as enacted by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1959, section 10), and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, hereby resolves by way of special order to make an annually recurring special rate of ninety-five one hundredths of a penny (0.95d.) in the pound (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Hawera (defined in New Zealand Gazette of the 21st day of January 1960, No. 4, at page 68), which said special rate shall be levied as security for the said special loans; and the said Council doth hereby permanently appropriate and pledge the said special rate as security therefor until the said special loans shall be fully paid.”

Be and the same is hereby confirmed: Seconded by Cr. Greenwood, and carried.

The common seal of The Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Hawera was hereto affixed by the undersigned, John David Forbes Stevenson, the Town Clerk of the said Borough Council, on the 21st day of May 1962 pursuant to a resolution of the Council of the said borough and in the presence of the undersigned members of the said Council.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL

SECURITY RATES

Fendalton Riding Works Loan 1962, £4,000; Middleton Riding Works Loan 1962, £7,500; and Wairarapa Riding Works Loan 1962, £16,200

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on the following loans:

Fendalton Riding Works Loan 1962, £4,000;
Middleton Riding Works Loan 1962, £7,500; and
Wairarapa Riding Works Loan 1962, £16,200

authorised to be raised by the Waimairi County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reconstructing and sealing roads and constructing footpaths and kerbing and channelling in these ridings the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes special rates as follows:

Fendalton Riding ·011677d. (pence) in the £ (pound)
Middleton Riding ·049903d. (pence) in the £ (pound)
Wairarapa Riding ·049509d. (pence) in the £ (pound)

upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the special rating areas comprising the whole of the Fendalton, Middleton, and Wairarapa Ridings of the Waimairi County; and that the special rates shall be annual-recurring rates during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loans, being a period of 10 years, or until the loans are fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF APPROVAL OF SCHEME

Notice is hereby given that the scheme prepared by the trustees of the trust created by Caleb Maslin over Section 62, Eltham Village, as shown on Deposited Plan No. 1093 and comprised in certificate of title, Volume 136, folio 22, Taranaki Land Registration Office, in respect of which application was filed in the Supreme Court, New Plymouth. on the 17th day of November 1961, was considered by Mr Justice McGregor on the 11th day of May 1962, and an order was then made approving the said scheme.
