ALTERATION IN THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF THE
KAMO TOWN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to subsection 2 of section 53 of the Municipal
Corporations Act 1954, the Council hereby resolves that in
lieu of five members the Kamo Town Council shall consist
of seven members, and that the alteration shall take effect as
from the general election of councillors to be held in the
month of October 1962.

HAVELOCK NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 53 (2)
of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Havelock North
Borough Council resolves by way of special order as follows:
(1) In lieu of seven councillors the Havelock North Borough
Council shall consist of eight councillors.
(2) The increase in the number of councillors made pursuant
to this special order shall take effect at the General
Election of members of the Havelock North Borough
Council to be held on 13 October 1962, except in so
far and to such extent as may be necessary for pro-
viding for that election.
The foregoing resolution will be submitted for confirmation
at a meeting of the Council to be held on Tuesday, 22 May
1962.

BOROUGH OF KAITANGATA
PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of the
Borough of Kaitangata taken on 5 May 1962, on the proposal
of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of £48,500
to be known as the Water Supply Loan 1961 for the purpose
of providing a water supply scheme, resulted as follows:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 180
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 166
The number of informal votes was

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE MANAWATU DISTRICT LAW SOCIETY
In the matter of the Law Practitioners Act 1955 and in
the matter of the formation of The Manawatu District
Law Society.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was
passed at a meeting of barristers and solicitors practising
within the area, to be known as The Manawatu District Law
Society, on Monday, 16 April 1962, at Palmerston North:
“That a District Law Society be constituted pursuant to
the provisions of the Law Practitioners Act 1955 under the
name of “The Manawatu District Law Society”, such district
to include the whole of the area within the outer boundaries
of the Counties of Oroua, Pohangina, Pahiatua, Kairanga,
and Manawatu and that portion of the Horowhenua County
lying to the north of the Ohau River.”

substituted by section 11 of the Licensing Amendment Act

have been elected as members of the Licensing Committee
for the Wellington Licensing District for the period specified

THE MINING ACT 1926
TAKE notice that Kelvyn John Sarginson, of Skippers, farmer,
has made application for a licence for a water race com-
mencing at a dam in Skippers Creek 1³⁄₄ miles up from the
junction of Skippers Creek and the Shotover River and thence
running 1,350 ft north to south to applicant’s power house.

has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909,

cancelled the registry of Loyal Upper Clutha Lodge, No.
9569, of The Otago District of the Manchester Unity In-
dependent Order of Oddfellows’ Friendly Society (Register
No. 23/38) held at Pembroke, on the ground that the said
branch has ceased to exist.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday
evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be
received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the
day preceding publication.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 9d. per line for
the first insertion and 6d. per line for the second and any
subsequent insertions.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.
STATUTORY REGULATIONS
Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of
general legislative force are no longer published in the New
Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of
the following arrangements:
(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing)
subscription £2 per calendar year in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram,
35s. per volume. (Volumes for years 1936–37 and
1939–42 are out of print.)
