Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land for a Public
School in Block XIII, Tiffin Survey District
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a secondary school; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Greytown and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 3 roods, situated in Block XIII, Tiffin Survey District, Wellington R.D., being part Tahorahina No. 128N Subdivision No. 2; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 4527 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Declaration That Land is a Public Reserve
PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Marlborough County Council on 10th day of November 1961:
"That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 13 of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Marlborough County Council hereby resolves that the piece of land vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the said county and described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a public reserve for recreation purposes within the meaning of the said Act."

Vesting a Reserve in the Tauranga County Council
PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby vests the reserve described in the Schedule hereto in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Tauranga, in trust, for recreation purposes.

Amending Notice by the Minister of Marine Declaring Lake Okaro to be Set Aside for the Operation of Launches and Water Skiers
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, the Minister of Marine hereby amends the notice of the 10th day of October 1961 published in the Gazette of the 19th day of the same month at page 1627 by inserting after the words "9 a.m. and 4 p.m." wherever they occur the words "at weekends and public holidays".

Declaring Area for Speed Boats and Water Skiing for the Purpose of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, the Minister of Marine hereby declares that for a period of 2 years from the date of this notice, subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto-(a) the area of water firstly described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958 on any Sunday after 12 o'clock noon except those Sundays between the 10th day of April and the 10th day of June inclusive, and between the 1st day of September and the 10th day of October inclusive, and (b) the area of water secondly described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958 except between the 10th day of April and the 10th day of June inclusive, and between the 1st day of September and the 10th day of October inclusive.
FIRST SCHEDULE
FIRSTLY, all that area of water in the Waihao River bounded on the sides by lines commencing at a common point on the west bank of the Dead Arm at its junction with the river proper-(a) the first of such lines running eastwards to a point on the north-east corner of the Waihao Box Reserve, and (b) the second of such lines running due south-west to a point on the opposite bank of the river from the commencing point.
Secondly, all that area of water of approximately 2 miles in length in the Dead Arm of the Waihao River between the following lines-(a) at the south, the first of the lines described in the area firstly described in the First Schedule, and (b) at the north, the line commencing on the eastern bank of the Dead Arm of the river at a point approximately 2 miles north of the Box, where the Dead Arm first turns inland from the sea coast, and running due south-west to a point on the opposite bank.
SECOND SCHEDULE
- During the times in which regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958 are not operative by virtue of this notice there shall be placed on the banks of the river at the ends of the appropriate boundary lines notice boards containing the following notice:
"NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1958
For a distance of approximately 2 miles from this notice in the Dead Arm of the river parallel to the sea coast the speed limit of 5 m.p.h. does not apply." - At the slipway near the Waihao Box there shall be placed a notice board containing the following notice:
"NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1958
Except between 10 April and 10 June and between 1 September and 10 October the speed limit of 5 miles per hour shall not apply in the area of river and Dead Arm defined by notice boards:
(a) On any Sunday after 12 noon for a distance of 2 miles northwards of a line drawn south-west across the river from a point on the west bank of the Dead Arm at its junction with the river proper;
(b) On any day for a distance of 2 miles northwards of a line drawn east across the river from a point on the west bank of the Dead Arm at its junction with the river proper."

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
All proposals of candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize, which is to be distributed on 10 December 1962, must, in order to be taken into consideration, be laid before the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament by a duly qualified person before the 1st day of February 1962.
Any one of the following persons is held to be duly qualified:
(a) Members and late members of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament, as well as the advisers appointed at the Norwegian Nobel Institute; (b) Members of Parliament and members of Government of the different States, as well as members of the Interparliamentary Union; (c) Members of the International Arbitration Court at the Hague; (d) Members and Associates of the Institute of International Law; (e) University professors of Political Science and of Law, of History and of Philosophy; and (f) Persons who have received the Nobel Peace Prize.
