At the Government House at Wellington this 2nd day
of May 1962
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 90 of the Education Act 1914, as amended
by section 10 of the Education Amendment Act 1952, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes
the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Whakatane High
School Board of Governors Order 1962.
(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of
June 1962. -
The constitution of the Board of Governors of the
Whakatane High School, prescribed by the Whakatane High
School Board of Governors Order 1953,* is hereby varied
so that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in section
90 of the Education Act 1914, the school shall be controlled
by a Board of Governors constituted as follows:
(a) One member appointed by the South Auckland Edu-
cation Board.
(b) Four members elected by the parents of the pupils
who reside in the Borough of Whakatane.
(c) Three members elected by the parents of the pupils
who reside outside the Borough of Whakatane.
(d) One member appointed by the executive of the Whaka-
tane High School Old Pupils' Association.

1953 is hereby revoked.

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 357 of the Cook Islands Act 1915, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby takes
the land described in the Schedule hereto for the following
public purpose, namely, education.
SCHEDULE
All those pieces of land containing together 4 acres 2 roods
10Β·3 perches, more or less, situated in the district of Avatele
in the Island of Niue, Cook Islands, being the whole of the
land known as Liolau Sections 1 to 10 inclusive, Avatele
District, and being all the land comprised in an order of the
Native Land Court made on the 5th day of September 1961
on investigation of title; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan signed by the Resident Commissioner
of Niue and deposited in the office of the Registrar, Native
Land Court, Niue, under No. 56.

Pursuant to section 357 of the Cook Islands Act 1915, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby takes
the land described in the Schedule hereto for the following
purpose, namely, for the purpose of health.
SCHEDULE
All that parcel of land containing 1 rood and 17 perches,
more or less, situate in the district of Omoka in the island of
Penrhyn, Cook Islands, being part of the land named by the
Native Land Court Omoka Section No. 14, as the same is
delineated and edged red on the plan signed by the Resident
Commissioner of the Cook Islands and deposited in the office
of the Registrar of the High Court of the Cook Islands at
Rarotonga, under No. 75.

Appointing the Deputy Transport Charges Appeal Authority

Pursuant to section 136A of the Transport Act 1949, His
Excellency the Governor-General hereby appoints His Honour
Judge Douglas James Dalglish of Lower Hutt to be the Deputy
Transport Charges Appeal Authority for a term commencing
on the 1st day of May 1962 and expiring on the 31st day of
December 1962.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
this 1st day of May 1962.
