HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Balclutha Borough Council is proceeding by way
of special order to raise a loan of £91,000 to be known as the
Sewerage Loan 1962:
And whereas the special order made by the said Council
to raise the said loan was irregular or defective in that the
first of the two public notifications required by paragraph (c)
of section 77 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 was not
given during the period of 28 days immediately preceding the
date of the subsequent meeting confirming the resolution to
raise the said loan:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers of the district
have not been misled by such irregularity or defect as afore-
said and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now therefore, pursuant to section 130 of the Local Auth-
orities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, hereby orders and declares that the proceedings in
connection with the raising of the said loan shall be valid to
all intents and purposes as though the said public notification
had been given in the prescribed manner, and hereby further
orders and declares that the validity of the proceedings in
connection with the raising of the said loan or of the security
for the said loan shall not be questioned on the ground of the
irregularity or defect aforesaid.

of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee,
hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 18th day of
May 1959 and published in the Gazette on the 28th day
of the same month at page 690, authorising Alan Edwin
Lucas, of Kingston, farmer, to use water for the purpose
of generating electricity, the rights, powers, and privileges
under the said Order in Council having been assigned to
John Chapman Jack, of Kingston, farmer.
