PURSUANT to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the provisional State forest land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.
SCHEDULE
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT—WESTLAND CONSERVANCY
ALL those areas in Grey County, Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 22,486 acres 1 rood 10 perches, more or less, and described generally as follows: All that area containing 3,310 acres, more or less, being part Reserve 1605 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1920, page 2838), situated in Blocks VIII and XII, Waimea Survey District; bounded by a line commencing at the southern corner of Rural Section 3595 situated in Block VIII, Waimea Survey District, and proceeding due south to the right bank of the Big Hohonu River; then westerly along that bank to a point in line with the northern boundary of Rural Section 1245, Block XII, Waimea Survey District; then westerly to and along that boundary to Cape Terrace Road; then north-westerly along the eastern side of that road to the right bank of Tansey Creek; then westerly along that bank to the right bank of the Taramakau River; then north-westerly along that bank to the eastern boundary of Block VII, Waimea Survey District; then northerly along that block boundary to the southern boundary of Block IV, Waimea Survey District; then easterly along that block boundary to the western side of Camerons Road; then southerly and easterly generally along the western and southern sides of that road to the south-western boundary of Crown land (ungazetted Gravel Reserve); then south-easterly along that boundary and north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of the said Crown land to the southern side of Camerons Road; then easterly along that roadside to the western-most corner of Rural Section 3595; then south-easterly generally along the south-western boundary of the said Rural Section 3595 to the point of commencement.
Also all that area containing 155 acres, more or less, being part Reserve 1605 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1930, page 3124), situated in Block VIII, Waimea Survey District; bounded by a line commencing at the northern-most corner of Rural Section 2950 and proceeding north-westerly generally along the eastern boundary of Crown land to the left bank of Tansey Creek; then easterly along that bank to the western side of Cape Terrace Road; then southerly along that roadside to the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 2950; then north-westerly along that boundary to the point of commencement.
Also all that area containing 100 acres, more or less, being part Reserve 1605 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1920, page 2838), situated in Blocks I and V, Hohonu Survey District, and Block VIII, Waimea Survey District; bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of Cockeye Creek in line with the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 2705 and proceeding south-easterly generally along that bank to the north-western boundary of part Reserve 1605 (State forest as described in Gazette 1940, page 1788); then south-westerly along that boundary to Marsden Road; then north-westerly generally along the north-eastern side of that road to the south-eastern boundary of Crown land (ungazetted Gravel Reserve); then north-easterly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the said Crown land to the south-eastern boundary of Crown land; then north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that Crown land to the point of commencement.
Also all that area containing 15,787 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part Reserve 1605 and 1661 (provisional State forest, Gazettes, 1920, page 2838, and 1919, page 1289), situated in Blocks I, II, III, V, VI, VII, IX, X, and XI, Hohonu Survey District; bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 53, and proceeding westerly along the north side of Irishmans Road to the south-eastern boundary of Reserve 1072; then north-easterly along that boundary and north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Reserve 1072 to the northern side of Irishmans Road; then south-westerly generally along that roadside to a point in line with the western boundary of Rural Section 2474, Block VII, Hohonu Survey District; then southerly to and along that boundary to the north-western side of Morgan Road; then south-westerly along that road to the easternmost corner of Rural Section 2470; then westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of Rural Section 2470 to a public road; then westerly and southerly along the northern and western sides of that road to the northern boundary of Rural Section 2442; then westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of Rural Section 2442 to the northern boundary of Reserve 956; then westerly and south-easterly generally along the northern and south-western boundaries of Reserve 956 to the northern side of the Kumara-Haupiri Junction road; then westerly generally along the northern side of that road to the right bank of the Little Hohonu River; then along the right bank of the Little Hohonu River and the right bank of the Big Hohonu River to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Rural Section 998; then northerly to and along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of that section; then easterly along a right line to the western corner of Rural Section 1874, Block IX, Hohonu Survey District; then southerly along the western boundary of that section to the western side of Marsden Road; then southerly by the western side of the aforementioned road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Crown land situated in Block IX, Hohonu Survey District; then easterly generally to and along the southern boundary of that Crown land to the easternmost corner thereof; then north-westerly generally along the eastern and northern boundaries of that Crown land and other Crown land situated in Block V, Hohonu Survey District, to the south-eastern boundary of part Reserve 1661 (permanent State forest as described in Gazette, 1940, page 1788); then north-easterly and northerly along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of the said reserve to the eastern boundary of part Reserve 1605 (permanent State forest as described in Gazette, 1940, page 1788); then northerly and westerly along the eastern and northern boundaries of that reserve to its north-western boundary; then north-easterly along the production of that boundary to the southern side of the Maori Creek Road; then easterly along that road to the western boundary of the Town of Dunganville; then southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of the Town of Dunganville to and across Maori Creek to the western boundary of part Rural Section 1494, Block II, Hohonu Survey District; then south-easterly and north-easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of that section to the southern side of a public road; then easterly generally along a track up German Gully to the north-western corner of Rural Section 3357, Block III, Hohonu Survey District; then southerly along the western boundary of that section to the western corner of part Lot 2, D.P. 53; then south-easterly generally along the western boundary of part Lot 2 aforesaid, and its production to the south-western side of a public road; then generally south-easterly along that road to the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 53; then southerly along that boundary to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom all public roads and all ungazetted Gravel Reserves.
Also all that area, containing 138 acres, more or less, being part Reserve 1598 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1919, page 1289), situated in Blocks VII and VIII, Mawheranui Survey District; bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of Nelson Creek in line with the eastern boundary of part Section 27, Square 123, Block VII, Mawheranui Survey District, and proceeding northerly to and along that boundary to the south-western boundary of part Reserve 1598 (permanent State forest, Gazette, 1940, page 1786); then south-easterly along that boundary to the right bank of Nelson Creek; then north-westerly generally along that bank to the point of commencement.
Also all that area, containing 55 acres, more or less, being part Reserve 1695 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1919, page 1284), situated in Block VIII, Mawheranui Survey
