Approval of Testing Officer Under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person
named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing
officer under the said regulations for the authority specified
in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Kai Iwi
and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in
the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land
Act 1948 as from the 6th day of February 1961.

Licensing Fiordland Travel Co. to Use and Occupy Parts of
the Bed of Lake Te Anau as Sites for Four Jetties
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine
hereby licenses and permits Wilson Cameron Campbell, of
Gore, and Charles Lawson Burrows, of Te Anau, trading
under the style or title of Fiordland Travel Co. (hereinafter
called "the licensees", which term shall include their executors,
administrators, and assigns unless the context requires a
different construction), to use and occupy parts of the bed
of the lake at Dome Island, Gorge Falls, The Caves, and Te
Anau Downs in Lake Te Anau, as shown on plans marked
M.D. 8964, 8967, 8968, and 8969, respectively, and 8916, all
deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Welling-
ton, for the purpose of maintaining the four jetties thereon,
as shown on the said plans, such licence to be held and
enjoyed by the licensees upon and subject to the terms and
conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regu-
    lations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall,
    so far as applicable, apply hereto.
  2. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st
    day of January 1961.
  3. The premium payable by the licensees shall be two
    pounds (£2) and the annual sum so payable shall be five
    pounds (£5).
  4. The master of every vessel discharging ballast at the
    said jetties shall have all such ballast taken away and
    deposited above high-water mark, or at such place as may be
    approved by the Minister or by any person appointed by the
    Minister for that purpose.

    Licensing Leonard Albert Edward Williams to Use and
    Occupy a Part of the Bed of the Northern Wairoa River
    at Ruawai for a Landing Site
    PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine
    hereby licenses and permits Leonard Albert Edward Wil-
    liams, of Ruawai (hereinafter called "the licensee", which
    term shall include his executors, administrators, or assigns
    unless the context requires a different construction), to use
    and occupy a part of the bed of the Northern Wairoa River
    at Ruawai, as shown on plan marked M.D. 8584 and deposited
    in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the
    purpose of maintaining a landing site thereon, as shown on
    the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the
    licensee upon and subject to the conditions set forth in the
    Schedule hereto.
    SCHEDULE
  5. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regula-
    tions 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, as
    far as applicable, apply hereto.
  6. The premium payable by the licensee shall be two
    pounds (£2) and the annual sum so payable ten pounds (£10).
  7. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st
    day of February 1961.
  8. The licensee shall not discharge any sand, shingle, metal,
    or rubbish of any description into the river, or permit any
    person to discharge any sand, shingle, metal, or rubbish into
    the river.
  9. Nothing in this licence shall be construed as prohibiting
    any fisherman from landing his catch of fish in the said area.

    Licensing Wilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement Ltd. to Use and
    Occupy Part of the Foreshore and Bed of Whangarei Har-
    bour as a Site for a Wharf
    PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine
    hereby licenses and permits Wilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement
    Ltd., of Auckland (hereinafter called the company, which
    term shall include its successors or assigns unless the context
    requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part
    of the foreshore and bed of the Whangarei Harbour, as
    shown on plan marked M.D. 10877 and deposited in the
    office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the pur-
    pose of erecting and maintaining a wharf thereon, as shown
    on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the
    company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set
    forth in the Schedule hereto.
    SCHEDULE
  10. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regula-
    tions 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so
    far as applicable, apply hereto.
  11. The premium payable by the company shall be five
    pounds (£5) and the annual sum so payable ten pounds
    (£10).
  12. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st
    day of January 1961.
  13. All persons, firms, or companies, with the exception of
    Wilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement Ltd., using the wharf shall
    pay shipping and goods wharfage charges in accordance with
    the scale of charges prescribed by the Whangarei Harbour
    Boards's bylaws for the time being in force.
  14. The master of every vessel discharging ballast at the
    said wharf shall deposit such ballast above high-water mark
    or at such other place as may be approved by the Harbour-
    master.

    Bed of Frankton Arm, Lake Wakatipu, as a Site for a
    Jetty
    PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine
    hereby licenses and permits Horace Tomkies, of Queenstown
    (hereinafter called "the licensee", which term shall include
    his administrators, executors, or assigns unless the context
    requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of
    the bed of Frankton Arm, Lake Wakatipu, as shown on plan
    marked M.D. 8585 and deposited in the office of the Marine
    Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining a
    jetty thereon, as shown on the said plan, such licence to be
    held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the
    terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
