"SCHEDULE

LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of
supply hereinbefore described, commencing from the licensee's
generator situated in Lot 6, D.P. 785, Section 118, and proceeding as follows:

(1) In a north-easterly direction across Dundee Street;
thence in a south-easterly direction along Dundee
Street to Argyle Street; and thence in a north-easterly
direction along Argyle Street to a house situated in
Lot 9, D.P. 286, Section 120.

(2) In a north-westerly direction to a building situated
in Lot 12, D.P. 3001, Section 117.

All being situated in Block I, Paterson Survey District, in
the County of Stewart Island, the said lines and buildings
being more particularly shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D.
561 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity
Department at Wellington."

Authorising Thomas James Thomson, of Glenorchy, Farmer,
to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

At the Government House at Wellington this 1st day of
February 1961

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to Thomas
James Thomson, of Glenorchy, farmer (hereinafter referred
to as the licensee), a licence, subject to the conditions
hereinafter set forth, to take and use from Earnslaw Creek
(hereinafter referred to as the said stream) situated in
Section 37, Block I, Earnslaw Survey District, in the County
of Lake, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of
water not exceeding 6 cubic feet per second at any one time.

CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences
    by the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical
    Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall
    form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may
    be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

  1. This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations
    1934, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply
    Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935,
    the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and to all regulations
    hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution
    therefor respectively.

UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS

  1. Water shall be used under this licence solely for the
    purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the
    said stream at the point in Section 37, Block I, Earnslaw
    Survey District, indicated on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 550
    deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity
    Department at Wellington.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

  1. The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions
    hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works
    for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said
    works being indicated on the said plan N.Z.E.D. 550:

(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a
water race and pipeline leading to the powerhouse
hereinafter referred to, giving a static-head of
approximately 60 ft.

(b) Turbine and powerhouse with all necessary equipment
for generating electricity, situated in Section 8,
Block I, Earnslaw Survey District.

(c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse to a
tributary of Reid's Lake.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

  1. The system of supply shall be an alternating-current
    system as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01
    of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall
    continue in force until the 31st day of March 1981.

RENTAL

  1. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum
    payable in respect of this licence, the maximum generating
    capacity of the plant at the commencement of this licence
    is 20·6kVA.

No RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED

  1. Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the
    licensee any right to water.

Varying an Order in Council Prohibiting All Alienations of
Certain Maori Land Other Than Alienations in Favour of
the Crown

PURSUANT to section 254 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby varies
an Order in Council made on 1 August 1932 and published
in Gazette, 4 August 1932, Vol. II, page 1772, prohibiting all
alienations of the Maori land known as Waipoua 2A No. 1B
and other blocks, other than alienations in favour of the
Crown, by excluding therefrom the land described in the
Schedule hereto.

PURSUANT to section 11 of the Housing Act 1955, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders
and declares that the service lane described in the Schedule
hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council,
vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough
of Whangarei and be under the control and management
of the Whangarei Borough Council.

Authorising the Laying Off of a Street off Waiwhetu Road
in the City of Lower Hutt, Subject to a Building-line
Condition

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations
Act 1954 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
authorises the Lower Hutt City Council to permit the laying
off of a proposed street off Waiwhetu Road described in
the Schedule hereto at a width for part of its length of less
than 66 ft, but not less than 40 ft, subject to the condition
that no building or part of a building shall at any time be
erected on the land fronting the proposed street within a
distance of 15 ft from the side lines thereof.

THAT proposed street situated in the City of Lower Hutt,
Wellington R.D., containing 1 rood 0·3 perches, being part
