purpose of making advances to farmers for the erection of
dwellings under the Rural Housing Act 1939, the said Ingle-
wood County Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal
two three eight four pence (0·2384d.) in the pound upon
the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of
all rateable property of the whole of the County of Ingle-
wood; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-
yearly on the 30th day of June and the 31st day of December
in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being
a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
passed at a special meeting of the Inglewood County Council
held on the 11th day of December 1961.

HAMILTON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Security Rate for Streets Loan 1961, £100,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and any
other powers thereunto it enabling, the Hamilton City Council
hereby resolves as follows:
“'That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £100,000 authorised to be raised by the
Hamilton City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
purpose of meeting all costs and expenses incurred in carrying
out the construction and laying of footpaths, kerbing and
channelling, and carriageways within the City of Hamilton,
and other incidental expenses including all labour and
materials, plant, and tools, engineers’ fees, legal fees, plans
and specifications, supervision charges, the purchase of land,
compensation to the owners of property in respect of such
work and the cost of raising the loan, the said Hamilton
City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-
fifth of a penny (¼d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable
value, unimproved, of all rateable property in the City of
Hamilton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy
of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the
Hamilton City Council on the 8th day of November 1961.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL
PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the
Lower Clutha Special Rating District, taken on the 30th day
of November 1961, on the proposal of the above-named local
authority to raise a loan of £225,000, to be known as the
Lower Clutha Flood Protection Loan 1961, for the purpose of
providing portion of the local share of the cost of the Lower
Clutha Flood Protection Scheme, resulted as follows:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was ...803
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was ...441
The number of informal votes was .....4
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

ASHBURTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Ashburton Borough Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts,
to execute a certain public work, namely, to make an
extension of George Street, Tinwald, in the Borough of
Ashburton; and for the purpose of such public work the land
described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and
notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the
Town Clerk to the said Council, situated in Havelock Street,
Ashburton, and is open for inspection, without fee, to all
persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such land who have any well
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said land must state their objections
in writing and send the same, within 40 days from the first
publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council
Chambers, Havelock Street, Ashburton.

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Acts
amending the same and in the matter of the Municipal
Corporations Act 1954 and the Acts amending the same.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors and
Citizens of the Borough of Rangiora, a body corporate
constituted under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 pro-
poses, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all
other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to take, in
the manner provided by the Public Works Act 1928, for
the use, convenience, or enjoyment of a street, within the
Borough of Rangiora, the lands described in the Schedule
hereto; and notice is hereby further given that a plan showing
the lands to be taken and the names of the owners and
occupiers of such lands is deposited at the office of the Town
Clerk of Rangiora aforesaid, where it lies open for public
inspection daily, without fee, during all reasonable hours.
All persons affected shall, if they have any well grounded
objections to the taking of such land, set forth in writing
such objections and send such writing, within 40 days from
the 18th day of December 1961 (being the date of the first
publication of this notice), to the Rangiora Borough Council
addressed to the Town Clerk, Rangiora.

Rangiora containing by admeasurement 1 rood 325/10 perches,
more or less, being part of Rural Section 1019 and being part

shown coloured in blue on a plan deposited in the office
of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch, and therein numbered
9870.
Secondly, all that parcel of land situate in the Borough
of Rangiora containing by admeasurement 26 perches, more
or less, being part of Rural Section 1019 and being part of
the land recorded in Deeds register 4 D. 671, C. 1019
