Special Order Made by Coromandel County Council Altering Riding Boundaries
Pursuant to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Coromandel County Council.
Dated at Wellington this 20th day of December 1961.

SPECIAL ORDER
The Coromandel County Council hereby resolves, by way of special order as follows:
(1) Pursuant to section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, the Coromandel County Council hereby alters the boundaries of the Colville and Coromandel Ridings as set out in the Schedule hereto.
(2) Pursuant to section 36 of the Counties Act 1956, Council resolves that the Coromandel County Council shall consist of nine members who shall be elected as follows:
The electors of Colville Riding shall have one councillor.
The electors of Whenuakite Riding shall have two councillors.
The electors of the Coromandel and Whitianga Ridings shall have three councillors each.
SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM COLVILLE RIDING AND ADDED TO COROMANDEL RIDING
All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Coromandel County, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the eastern side of the old inland Colville Road and the northern boundary of part Old Land Claim 32 (Kevens Grant) in Block II, Coromandel Survey District, and proceeding northerly along the eastern side of the said road forming the western boundaries of part Moehau No. 4, Section 20, Block II aforesaid, another part Moehau No. 4 and part Moehau No. 4 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1933, page 1612) to and along the northern boundary of the last-mentioned part No. 4 to and northerly along the western boundaries of Harataunga West part No. 6 and 5B, Section 4, Block IX, Harataunga Survey District, Moehau 2c, part 2A 2B, part 2A 2A (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1920, page 923), to and easterly along the northern boundary of the said part 2A 2A and Moehau 2B 3 to the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 13950; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said Lot 1, and the western boundary of part Matamataharakeke Block comprised in certificate of title, Volume 955, folio 37, to the seashore; thence generally southerly along the seashore to the south-eastern corner of Harataunga East No. 2 in Block X, Harataunga Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the boundary of the Colville Riding as described in Gazette, 1953, page 1153, to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF COLVILLE RIDING
All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Coromandel County, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost point of Old Land Claim 94A, on the seashore of Kikowhakarere Bay, in Block I, Coromandel Survey District, and proceeding generally northerly and south-easterly along the sea coast to the boundary of the Coromandel Riding in Block IV, Harataunga Survey District, hereinbefore described; thence southerly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF COROMANDEL RIDING
All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Coromandel County, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost point of part Old Land Claim 94A, on the seashore of Kikowhakarere Bay, in Block I, Coromandel Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly generally along the north-eastern boundary of the said part Old Land Claim 94A to and north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of part Allotment 33, Kapanga Parish, as shown on D.P. 775,
to and northerly along the eastern boundary of Waimai Block and that last-named boundary produced across the Coromandel-Colville road; thence easterly generally along the northern side of that road to and easterly along the northern boundary of part Old Land Claim 32 (Kevens Grant) to the intersection of the eastern side of the old inland Colville Road; thence northerly along the eastern side of the said road forming the western boundaries of part Moehau No. 4, Section 20, Block II, Coromandel Survey District, another part Moehau No. 4 and part Moehau No. 4 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1933, page 1612) to and along the northern boundary of the last-mentioned part No. 4 to and northerly along the western boundaries of Harataunga part No. 6 and 5B, Section 4, Block IX, Harataunga Survey District, Moehau 2c, part 2A 2B, part 2A 2A (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1920, page 923) to and easterly along the northern boundary of the said part 2A 2A and Moehau 2B 3 to the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 13950; thence northerly along the western boundaries of the said Lot 1 and Matamataharakeke Block comprised in certificate of title, Volume 955, folio 37, to the seashore; thence generally southerly along the seashore to and along the shores of Whangapoua Harbour to and up the middle of the Mapauriki Stream to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 14, Block IV, Otama Survey District (State forest, Gazette, 1957, page 1616), thence along a right line to and easterly, southerly, and westerly generally along the general northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of the said Section 14, Section 4, Block VII, Otama Survey District, and Section 5, Block XII, Coromandel Survey District (all the said sections being State forest, Gazette, 1957, page 1616), and that last-named boundary produced across a public road to and southerly, south-westerly, and north-westerly generally along the eastern, south-eastern, and south-western boundaries of part Section 18, Block XII aforesaid, to and generally westerly along the southern boundaries of Section 19 (State forest, Gazette, 1957, page 623) and Section 20, Block XII aforesaid (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1942, page 2168), the eastern, southern, and south-western boundaries of Section 8, Block XV (State forest, Gazette, 1937, page 1198), the south-eastern boundary of Section 5 Block XI (State forest, Gazette, 1937, page 1198), the eastern boundary of part Section 2, Block XI (scenic reserve, Gazette, 1908, page 2994), and that last boundary produced across a public road; thence generally southerly and westerly along the eastern side of that road, and the northern boundary of Section 7, Block XV (State forest, Gazette, 1937, page 1198), and the eastern side of the Coromandel-Mercury Bay Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 14, Block XV (scenic reserve, Gazette, 1941, page 747); thence along a right line crossing the said road to and southerly along the said western boundary and its production to and up the middle of the Waiparapara Stream, to and south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 11, Block XV, all the aforesaid blocks being in Coromandel Survey District, along the south-western boundary of Section 7, Block IV, Hastings Survey District (State forest, Gazette, 1953, page 609), to and westerly along the northern boundary of part Kakatarahae No. 1 (State forest, Gazette, 1935, page 581) to and southerly along the western boundaries of Blocks IV and VIII, Hastings Survey District, to the intersection of a right line between a point in the middle of the Waikawau River in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block VII, Hastings Survey District, and the southern-most corner of Section 20, Block IV, Whitianga Survey District; thence westerly along that line to and down the middle of the said Waikawau River to and northerly along the shores of the Hauraki Gulf to the point of commencement.
