The Taringatura Rabbit District Order 1961 (Notice No Ag. 7446)

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Taringatura Rabbit District Order 1961.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date if its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Taringatura Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 22nd day of June 1955,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE TARINGATURA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area of land in the Southland Land District, Southland and Wallace Counties, containing by estimation 115,300 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Oreti River, opposite the southernmost point of Lot 1, D.P. 724, situated in Block XVI, Taringatura Survey District, and in line with the eastern side of a public road passing through the said Lot 1; thence south-westerly generally along the left bank of the Oreti River to a point in line with the southern side of the Benmore-Stockbridge road, Block XXXIII, Hokonui Survey District; thence westerly by a right line to a point on the right bank of the Oreti River in line with the south side of the Benmore-Stockbridge road, Block XXXIV, Taringatura Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the right bank of the Oreti River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 3s, Fern Hill Settlement, situated in Block XLI, Taringatura Survey District; thence westerly to and along the southern boundary of the said Section 3s and that boundary produced to the western side of a public road; thence northerly along that western side to the southern side of Hishon Road; thence north-westerly along the generally southern sides of Hishon Road, Harbour Endowment Road and Durneal Road and that last side produced to the western side to the northern boundary of Section 460, Block XXXI, Taringatura Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Section 460 and Lot 5, D.P. 941, and that boundary produced to the left bank of the Aparima River; thence northerly along the left bank of the Aparima River to its junction with the Hamilton Burn; thence north-easterly along the left bank of the Hamilton Burn to a stream forming the southern boundary of Section 131, Block IX, Taringatura Survey District; thence north-easterly along the new channel of the said stream intersecting the south-eastern corner of Section 131 aforesaid, and the north-western corner of Section 316, Block IX, and south-easterly along the aforesaid stream forming part of the south-eastern boundary of Section 131 to the north-eastern side of a public road; thence southeasterly generally along the north-eastern side of the said public road to the south-eastern boundary of Section 318, Block IX; thence north-easterly along that south-eastern boundary to the south-western boundary of Run 181A; thence south-easterly and north-easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Run 181A, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the northern side of a public road forming the southern boundary of Section 150, Block VI, Taringatura Survey District; thence easterly generally along the northern side of the said public road forming the southern boundary of said Section 150; Section 127, Block X; Sections 59 and 128, Block XI, and Section 24, Block XVI, Taringatura Survey District, to the north-western side of the Dipton-Castlerock road; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of the Dipton-Castlerock road to a point in line with the northern side of a public road through Lot 1, D.P. 724; thence easterly to and along that northern side and its production to the eastern side of another public road through the said Lot 1; thence southerly along that eastern side and its production across the Oreti River to the point of commencement.

Pursuant to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Whitcombe Rabbit District Order 1961.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Whitcombe Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 1st day of May 1957,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE WHITCOMBE RABBIT DISTRICT

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashburton County, containing 219,875 acres, more or less, commencing at a point in the middle of the Rakaia River in line with the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 36983, Block VI, Hutt Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of Double Hill Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Rural Section 33501; thence westerly to and along that boundary to the eastern boundary of Run 277 โ€œMount Huttโ€; thence southerly generally along the generally eastern boundary of that run to its southernmost corner; thence south-westerly generally along the generally south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 36497 and the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 32444 and its production to the middle of McLennans Bush Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 30917; thence south-westerly and north-westerly, to and along the south-eastern and south-western boundary of that section to the south-eastern boundary of Reserve 2713; thence south-westerly along that boundary and its production to the middle of Pudding Hill Stream; thence south-easterly down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the middle of a road passing through Reserve 1116, Block I, Spaxton Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along the middle of that road to the middle of the north branch of the Ashburton River; thence north-westerly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle of Boundary Creek; thence south-westerly generally along the middle of that creek and continuing to Mount Taylor on the summit of Taylor Range; thence northerly generally along the summit of that range to the south-eastern boundary of Run 118A (Double Hill); thence south-westerly generally along that boundary to the southernmost corner of Run 118A; thence north-westerly generally along the south-western boundary of Run 117 (Upper Lake Heron) to the eastern shore of Lake Heron and north-westerly generally along the shore of that lake to the mouth of the Cameron River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river and the general south-western boundary of Run 117 and its production to the middle of the Rakaia River; thence south-easterly generally down the middle of that river to the point of commencement.

    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the South Ashburton Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 17th day of December 1958,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
